Job summary

Patronus AI, Inc. seeks a Member of Technical Staff - Product Engineer in San Francisco to build high‑quality simulations used to train and evaluate AI agents. You will own complex agent environments end‑to‑end, collaborate with researchers, and improve tooling to support safer, human‑aligned AGI progress.

Your work will help frontier labs stress‑test and advance AI agents, with a focus on realistic simulations and robust systems. Strong background in CS/ML and startup‑style ownership is valued.

Qualifications

• BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, ML, Stats, Math, or related field with 3+ years of software development experience.
• Track record of owning complex products end-to-end, from requirements to production launch.
• Experience with enterprise SaaS tooling or deep usage of CRMs, billing platforms, and related apps.
• Strong engineering judgment around correctness, failure modes, edge cases, and adversarial behavior.

Responsibilities

• Build RL environments end-to-end including frontend, backend, APIs, data models and workflows.
• Collaborate with researchers and QA to ensure simulations are realistic and robust.
• Maintain and improve internal tooling to raise engineering standards over time.
• Assess task coverage, environment correctness, edge cases, and potential adversarial behavior.
• Leverage AI coding tools and develop new tooling on top of existing frameworks.
