Job summary

CPP Cudahy seeks a Product Engineer to join our engineering team at the Cudahy, CA aerospace manufacturing facility. You’ll help bring complex, high-performance components from concept to production—collaborating with engineering, tooling, machining, quality, and operations to deliver reliable parts for aircraft.

The role offers a salary range of $100,000–$130,000 per year (DOE), plus a quarterly bonus program.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering is required; related fields preferred.
• 5–7 years of Product Engineering experience.
• CAD experience; SolidWorks preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review, direct, and approve pattern designs to ensure dimensional control and manufacturability.
• Approve constituents to meet metallurgical properties including gating, heat treatment, and sand mold attributes.
• Identify and improve process yields using data analysis methods (statistical, DOE, 6 Sigma).
• Support Sales and Quality in discussions with customers about casting specs and manufacturing methods.
• Provide technical support to Production Supervisors for casting manufacture.
• Audit production lots for technique adherence and repeatability.
• Communicate effectively with all management levels and manufacturing teams.
• Comply with safety, DOT, HAZMAT and environmental policies.

What will you do?

• Review, direct, and approve pattern designs to ensure dimensional control is in accordance with definition requirements and will be consistently met at the most efficient rate of manufacture
• Review, direct, and approve the constituents necessary to achieve metallurgical property requirements which include, but are not limited to; gating methodology, heat treatment parameters, and sand mold attributes
• Identify and improve process yields using various data analysis techniques (statistical, mathematical, DOE, 6 Sigma, etc.) to uncover variables in the process
• Support Sales and Quality personnel in interacting with customers regarding technical characteristics of casting design specifications and methods of manufacturing
• Provide technical support to Production Supervisors for the manufacture of castings
• Works well in a collaborative environment to accomplish company goals
• Routinely audit production lots for adherence to established techniques and to ensure the repeatability of the results
• Good verbal communications with all levels of management and manufacturing
• Comply with all safety, DOT, HAZMAT and environmental policies and procedures

What will make you a successful candidate?

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering required, Material Science or related field is preferred
• 5-7years previous experience in a Product Engineering
• CAD experience, SolidWorks preferred
• Excellent written, verbal & presentation communications skills
• Ability to work effectively throughout all levels of the organization, including directly with our customers
• Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills
• Strong mathematical skills.
