Job summary

Hynes Industries Inc. is seeking an experienced Mechanical/Engineering Technology professional to lead technical projects from concept through implementation at our Youngstown facility. You will drive cross-functional collaboration, develop fixtures and tooling, and improve manufacturing processes.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Mechanical Engineering Technology and 10+ years in tool and die, roll forming, and metal fabrication. Occasional OT/shift as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Mechanical Engineering Technology.
• 10+ years of experience in Tool and Die, roll forming and metal fabrication.
• Strong knowledge of AutoCAD and Inventor; ERP experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical projects from concept through implementation.
• Establish best practices in technical leadership, product collaboration, and on-time delivery.
• Create and maintain engineering documentation including part prints and programs.
• Support line optimization andContinuous Improvement initiatives.
• Manage new job production launches and track progress with updates.
• Coordinate with outside vendors to monitor progress and communicate risks.
• Collaborate with Operations, Sales and Quote teams on new projects.
• Assist with equipment installation and moves with Advanced Manufacturing.
• Execute Engineering Change Notices as required.
• Train the product engineering team.

Job description

Provide technical support for new product development, leading technical projects from concept through implementation. Activities include, but are not limited to, keeping up on all activities surrounding product development and leading jobs like other product engineers, and providing technical support and collaboration across cross-functional teams. Activities also surround increasing performance of existing jobs and overall process enhancements. (Shift: Day, as needed)Essential Duties and Responsibilities Includes the following:Helps establish and maintain best practices in technical leadership, product collaboration, team development, quality, and on time delivery in accordance with Hynes Standard Operating ProceduresHelps maintain job status report - as requiredFormulates product drawings, constructs setup sheets, designs fixturing, and creates pre-notch & length programs - as requiredCreate and maintain engineering documentation including part prints, packaging instructions, part programs, and capital expenditures.Supports the Process Group for line optimization and Continuous Improvement projects.Manage new job production launches to ensure the project is on track to meet customer requirements and facilitate regular project update meetingsFollow up with outside vendors on and closely track progress and communicate risksWork with the Operations Group on new start-ups and continuous improvement initiativesHelps maintain ERP system and monitor for accuracy and consistency.Executes Engineering Change Notices as requiredTakes active role in training product engineering teamWork with the Sales and Quote team on new project prospectsWorks in conjunction with the Advanced Manufacturing team on equipment installation and moves that impact existing jobsEducation and/or Experience: Bachelor degree in Mechanical or Mechanical Engineering Technology. 10+ years experience in Tool and Die, roll forming and metal fabrication.Skills:AutoCAD and InventorMicrosoft OfficeContinuous improvementLeadershipFixture design
