Job summary

Applicantz is seeking a hands-on Product/Manufacturing/ supplier engineer for a 12-month onsite role in Tualatin, Oregon, with hybrid work options. You will support gas delivery assemblies, OEM components, and collaborate with Product Engineering and suppliers during NPI, ramp, and sustaining activities.

The role requires 5+ years in related technical fields, strong root-cause analysis, and knowledge of manufacturing processes, QC systems, and data-driven decision making.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in product engineering, supplier engineering, manufacturing engineering, quality engineering, semiconductor equipment, or a related technical field.
  • Experience working with complex mechanical assemblies, OEM components, or semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and root cause analysis skills.
  • Experience working with suppliers, contract manufacturers, or component manufacturers.
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing processes, process controls, and quality systems.
  • Experience leading technical investigations and driving corrective actions.
  • Knowledge of statistical methods, process capability, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard engineering tools.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development, qualification, and release of Gas Delivery assemblies and OEM components.
  • Partner with Product Engineering teams and suppliers during new product introduction (NPI), production ramp, and sustaining activities.
  • Provide technical support throughout the product lifecycle, including qualification, manufacturing, and production support activities.
  • Investigate supplier quality, manufacturing, reliability, and performance issues and drive corrective actions to closure.
  • Lead and support root cause investigations involving supplier, manufacturing, field, and customer-related issues.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to improve manufacturing processes, process controls, product quality, cost, and delivery performance.
  • Participate in Build Verify activities, Production Readiness Reviews (PRRs), and product release processes.
  • Conduct supplier audits, technical assessments, and manufacturing capability evaluations.
  • Support supplier development initiatives in partnership with Quality, Operations, Supply Chain, and Product Engineering teams.
  • Manage technical projects and drive issue resolution to support business objectives and program schedules.
  • Develop and implement Best Known Methods (BKMs), lessons learned, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Provide technical support during component build, test, qualification, and production activities.
  • Utilize structured problem-solving methodologies to identify root causes and implement sustainable corrective actions.
  • Prepare technical reports, engineering documentation, supplier assessments, and project status updates.
  • Travel domestically and internationally as required.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Experience with semiconductor gas delivery systems, fluid delivery systems, or ultra-high-purity (UHP) components.
  • Knowledge of valves, regulators, weldments, manifolds, tubing assemblies, fittings, and related fluid handling components.
  • Experience with supplier quality management and supplier development.
  • Familiarity with failure analysis, reliability engineering, and corrective action methodologies.
  • Experience conducting supplier audits and manufacturing assessments.
  • Working knowledge of 8D, 5-Why, DMAIC, FMEA, SPC, or similar structured problem-solving methodologies.
  • Experience working with global suppliers and multicultural teams.
  • Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma experience.
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
Preferred
  • Advanced engineering degree.
  • ASQ, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or related professional certifications.
  • Supplier quality or auditor certification.
