Job summary

Athena Intelligence is seeking a Product Engineer focused on frontend development for Olympus, our AI-native platform. You will build user- and agent-facing apps across Docs, Sheets, Browse, Query, Notebooks, Spaces, and Canvas, delivering responsive, collaborative interfaces.

Join a team with experience from Palantir, IBM, and Scale AI, working in a fully in-person NYC office. You’ll contribute to AI-enabled workflows and partner with Platform Engineers to advance infrastructure and client

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• 3+ years frontend development experience.
• Strong proficiency in NextJS, TypeScript, and React.
• Experience with collaborative/multiplayer frontend and backend tech (Yjs, GraphQL).
• Familiarity with backend development, FastAPI.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain user- and agent-facing apps within Olympus.
• Create intuitive UI with NextJS, TS, and React.
• Implement collaborative features using Yjs and related tech.
• Collaborate with Platform/FD Engineers to align with infra and client needs.
• Ensure performance and code quality through reviews and best practices.

Job Overview

As a Product Engineer at Athena Intelligence, you'll play a crucial role in building the user and agent-facing elements of Olympus, our core AI-native operations and analysis platform. You'll be responsible for developing and maintaining key applications within Olympus, including Docs, Sheets, Browse, Query, Notebooks, Spaces, and Canvas. Each of these applications is designed to be AI-native, catering to both human users and AI agents.

Core Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain user and agent-facing applications within the Olympus platform
• Create beautiful, intuitive, and responsive user interfaces using NextJS, TypeScript, and React
• Implement collaborative and multiplayer features using technologies like Yjs
• Contribute to backend development using FastAPI when necessary
• Ensure seamless integration of AI capabilities into each application
• Collaborate with Platform Engineers and Forward Deployed Engineers to align application development with infrastructure and client needs
• Optimize application performance and user experience
• Participate in code reviews and maintain high code quality standards
• Stay updated with the latest frontend technologies and best practices

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
• 3+ years of experience in frontend development, with a focus on building complex web applications
• Strong proficiency in NextJS, TypeScript, and React
• Experience with collaborative/multiplayer frontend and backend technologies, preferably Yjs
• Familiarity with backend development, particularly FastAPI
• Solid understanding of web technologies, modern Typescript and GraphQL
• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative team environment

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience
• Experience with AI-native application development
• Familiarity with analytics platforms or business intelligence tools
• Understanding of UX/UI design principles
• Experience with data visualization libraries
• Knowledge of agile development methodologies

Location

This position is based in our New York City office. Athena Intelligence is a fully in-person and in-office team, working 5 days a week in the office. We believe in the power of face-to-face collaboration and maintaining a strong team culture through daily in-person interactions. The office is located in the heart of Manhattan, allowing our team access to some of New York's best cuisine for breakfast, lunch, and dinner!
