Job summary

A renewable energy technology company is seeking a Product Director to lead the development of Terafab, a robotic platform for solar power plant installation. The role requires a strategic thinker with strong product management experience, particularly in robotics and automation. Qualifications

  • 7+ years of total professional experience in product management, engineering, or project management.
  • At least 4 years in product management for hardware+software solutions.
  • Direct exposure to large-scale solar power plant construction.
  • Direct exposure to large-scale solar power plant construction (utility-scale EPC, developer, or technology supplier).
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and compliance for heavy machinery and autonomous systems (OSHA, ISO, CE Marking).

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a clear product vision and strategy for Terafab.
  • Define and prioritize the product roadmap based on market research and customer feedback.
  • Collaborate with OEMs to integrate solutions and drive innovation.
  • Collaborate with OEMs and other technology partners to integrate solutions and drive innovation.
  • Work closely with engineering, design, sales, and marketing teams to ensure successful product development and launch.
  • Gather and synthesize input from customers, partners, and internal stakeholders to inform product decisions.
  • Act as the primary advocate for Terafab within the organization and with external stakeholders.
  • Oversee the development lifecycle of Terafab, from concept to deployment.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to define technical requirements and ensure feasibility.
  • Conduct regular reviews to monitor progress and address any challenges.

Terabase Energy is seeking a dynamic and experienced Product Director to lead the development and growth of Terafab, our flagship robotic platform for solar power plant installation. This role requires a strategic thinker who is passionate about renewable energy, robotics, and product innovation.

We work alongside project developers, owners, and engineering & construction firms to support the design, optimization, and construction of huge solar projects around the world. Our team is a blend of solar-industry veterans and novices, thought-leaders, dreamers, software, electrical and mechanical engineers, coders, product managers, project managers, sales and marketing professionals.

The Role

We are looking for a Product Director to own the product roadmap, collaborate with cross-functional teams, support the scale-up of Terafab, and ensure it exceeds market expectations. The ideal candidate will have experience in product management, engineering, or project management, with a strong background in robotics, automation, or autonomous machinery.

  • Work closely with engineering, design, sales, and marketing teams to ensure successful product development and launch.
  • Gather and synthesize input from customers, partners, and internal stakeholders to inform product decisions.
  • Act as the primary advocate for Terafab within the organization and with external stakeholders.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (mechanical, electrical, robotics, industrial engineering, or related field).
  • 7+ years of total professional experience in product management, engineering, or project management, with at least 4 years in product management for hardware+software solutions.
  • 3+ years in robotics, automation, or autonomous machinery, ideally in construction, agriculture, or manufacturing.
  • Direct exposure to large-scale solar power plant construction (utility-scale EPC, developer, or technology supplier), including knowledge of racking, module installation, site preparation, and commissioning.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and compliance for heavy machinery and autonomous systems (OSHA, ISO, CE Marking).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree.
