We are actively seeking a Product Development Specialist to join our growing organization and help us Nurture What You Love!

This role’s primary responsibility will beprovide insight and expertise to support product development priorities, working closely with R&D, Brand, and other cross-functional team members, plus manufacturing partners.

As our Product Development Specialist, you’ll make an impact by:

• Co-developing product formulas for Compana’s dog and cat treats (primarily, but not exclusively), working closely with co-manufacturers and the R&D, Brand, Project Management, Regulatory, FPS (Food and Product Safety), and Sourcing teams.
• Ensuringproduct formulas are safe, nutritionally appropriate, and regulatory compliant, working closely with R&D, FPS, and Regulatory teams.
• Leading development and maintenance of Finished Product Specifications for assigned products.
• Working closely with the Brand, Regulatory, and R&D teams in outlining research to support product innovation and supporting claims.
• Developing and maintaining relationships with ingredient technology, product development, manufacturing, veterinary, and other key industry experts who offer advice, share information, and assist Compana with product innovation.
• Supporting the nutritional/technical aspects of competitive market analysis throughout the product development and restage processes, providing feedback and insight to stakeholders.

What you need to succeed:

• B.S., in Animal Science, Food Science, Nutrition, or related field
