Job summary

ADB SAFEGATE is seeking a Product Development Project Manager to lead New Product Introduction projects in Columbus, OH. You will manage a cross-functional team spanning engineering, manufacturing and quality to deliver on time and within budget, while stimulating decision making and escalation when needed.

You will challenge assumptions, drive IP considerations, coordinate make-or-buy decisions, and monitor risks throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Master/Bachelor degree in a technical field.
• 5 to 7 years of PM experience in product development/manufacturing.
• PM capabilities with Prince2 or PMP qualification.
• Deep understanding of NPI.
• Product ramp-up and MTO/MTS transfer knowledge.
• Strong risk management (FMEA/APQP concepts).
• Financial acumen with budgets and business cases.

Responsibilities

• Achieve QCDB targets per PDP or production transfer.
• Own the overall project plan and gate timing.
• Organize and drive project team meetings.
• Energize the team, drive decisions, escalate when needed.
• Identify resource or capacity bottlenecks and escalate.
• Capture and apply lessons learned.
• Provide regular updates and exec recommendations.
• Address IP topics (e.g. patents).
• Coordinate make-or-buy decisions with stakeholders.
• Drive cost optimization in design and early production involvement.
• Monitor risk and opportunities; prepare risk decisions.

The Opportunity....

The Product Development Project Manager will be responsible for the successful delivery of New Product Introduction projects.Leveraging one's technical, interpersonal, and leadership experiences, they are directly responsible for delivering on the promise of new product innovations which enhance our customers' ability to improve their airside operations. The PDPM will manage a diverse, cross-functional project team spanning all functional areas of the enterprise. In addition to the traditional project management skillset, the successful candidate must have a combination of skills including an ability to ask penetrating and thought-provoking questions, detect unstated assumptions and drive decision making.

You will make an impact by....

• Management/Coordination
  • Accountable for achieving (QCDB- Quality, Cost, Delivery, Budget)) according to the Product Development Process (PDP) or transfer of production from one factory to another
  • Accountable for the overall project plan and gate timing
  • Responsible for organizing and driving project team meetings
  • Responsible for energizing the team, driving decision making and escalating when necessary
  • Responsible for identifying issues related to resource or capacity bottlenecks and escalating where and when needed to the appropriate management team
  • Responsible for capturing and applying lessons learned
• Reporting - enabling the executive team to manage by exception by providing regular updates and recommendations to drive the project to completion
• Technical
  • Responsible for addressing intellectual property (IP) topics (e.g. patents)
  • Responsible for the coordination of make-or-buy decisions, based on input from the different stakeholders
  • Push cross-functional cost optimization in order to realize cost effective and future safe solutions e.g. by early involvement of production and quality in the design process
• Risk Management and Escalation
  • Responsible for monitoring of project risk and opportunity while ensuring accurate documentation
  • Responsible for project risk management, mitigations and proactive escalationPrepare risk decisions (commercial & technical) for the management team in time based on impact analyses for ADB Safegate and customer

The talent we want to inspire has...

• Master/Bachelor degree in a technical field (e.g. Engineering, IT)
• 5 to 7 years of experience in Project Management in a product development and manufacturing environment
• Project management capabilities, including tools and methods (e.g. Prince 2 or PMP qualified)
• Deep understanding of NPI
• Product production ramp-up transfer process which could includeMake to Order (MTO) or Make to Stock (MTS) strategy
• Deep understanding of risk management (e.g. FMEA's)
• Familiar with Advanced Product Quality Process (APQP) concepts
• Financial acumen (business cases, budget, and cost control)
