Role Description

This full-time Product Development Manager role is a hybrid position based in the Los Angeles Metropolitan Area, with a mix of on-site collaboration and work-from-home flexibility. The Product Development Manager will lead the end-to-end product lifecycle, from concept ideation and market validation through formulation, testing, packaging, and launch. Day-to-day responsibilities include coordinating R&D activities with internal and external partners, conducting competitive and trend analyses, and ensuring products align with brand standards, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations. The role will work closely with cross-functional teams such as marketing, sales, operations, and supply chain to develop timelines, manage budgets, and support successful product introductions. This position will also monitor product performance, gather feedback, and recommend enhancements to maintain Dolce Glow’s reputation for high-quality, innovative self-tanning solutions.

Qualifications

• Own product development from concept through commercialization, managing timelines, milestones and cross-functional deliverables.
• Partner with the Founder and leadership team to translate product vision and innovation strategy into commercially viable launches.
• Manage formulation development with labs and manufacturing partners, including briefs, submissions, testing, revisions and approvals.
• Lead packaging development across primary and secondary components, balancing brand vision, functionality, cost and timing.
• Manage product development timelines and proactively identify risks, delays and dependencies.
• Partner closely with Operations, Marketing, Sales and Creative to ensure launches are aligned and execution-ready.
• Manage COGS targets, MOQs, quotes and vendor negotiations to support margin objectives.
• Coordinate regulatory, claims, stability, compatibility and required product testing with internal and external partners.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with labs, manufacturers, packaging suppliers and other development partners.
• Maintain accurate product specifications, development documentation and launch records.
• Support innovation pipeline planning and identify opportunities across new products, formats, ingredients and categories.
• Bring strong knowledge of the beauty industry, competitive landscape and emerging product trends.
• 5+ years of product development experience within beauty, skincare, body care or cosmetics preferred.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented and comfortable managing multiple launches simultaneously in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
