Job description

About Spinelli Kilcollin

Spinelli Kilcollin is a Los Angeles–based luxury jewelry brand known for its iconic linked rings, clean architectural designs, and commitment to responsible craftsmanship. Founded in 2010, our collections are handcrafted in downtown Los Angeles, with a focus on creating a positive, long-term impact on our industry, our community, and our customers.

Role Overview

The Product Development Manager leads the end-to-end development of new jewelry products, from concept through market launch. This role manages the product development cycle to align with the go-to-market (GTM) calendar, which is created and owned by Merchandising, manages relationships with vendors and manufacturing partners, and organizes the workflows of the design team to ensure collections are delivered on time, on brand, and to the Company's quality standards. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in the jewelry industry, with a strong preference for candidates who have worked in a luxury or fine jewelry environment.

What You'll Do
Go-to-Market Alignment
  • Manage the product development cycle to align with the go-to-market (GTM) calendar, which is created and owned by Merchandising.
  • Translate GTM calendar dates into detailed development milestones (concept, sampling, costing, approval, production, delivery) and manage the team's work against them.
  • Partner closely with Merchandising to understand GTM timing and priorities, and proactively flag any development risks that could impact scheduled launch dates.
  • Report regularly to leadership and Merchandising on development status against the GTM calendar, highlighting delays, bottlenecks, and mitigation plans.
Vendor Sourcing & Management
  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard new vendors, manufacturers, and material suppliers to support new product development and production scaling.
  • Negotiate pricing, minimum order quantities, lead times, and payment terms with vendors in partnership with Operations and Finance.
  • Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing vendor partners, conducting regular performance reviews on quality, cost, and delivery reliability.
  • Ensure vendors meet the Company's quality, ethical sourcing, and compliance standards.
Design Team Workflow
  • Organize and manage the design team's workflow, including intake of new project requests, prioritization, and resource allocation across concurrent collections.
  • Establish and maintain clear processes and tools (calendars, trackers, approval workflows) to keep design work moving efficiently from concept to hand-off for production.
  • Partner with designers to translate creative concepts into feasible, cost-effective products, balancing design intent with manufacturability and margin targets.
  • Facilitate regular design review and status meetings to keep stakeholders aligned on priorities and timelines.
Product Development
  • Manage the full product development lifecycle: concept development, technical specifications, sampling, costing, quality approval, and production hand-off.
  • Review and approve samples and pre-production units against design intent, quality standards, and cost targets.
  • Maintain accurate product development documentation, including tech packs, bills of materials, and costing sheets.
  • Identify opportunities to improve development speed, cost efficiency, and product quality.
What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 3-5+ years of experience in product development, merchandising, or production management, with direct experience in the jewelry industry.
  • Demonstrated experience building and managing go-to-market or product launch calendars.
  • Proven track record sourcing and managing vendor and manufacturing relationships.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple collections and timelines simultaneously.
  • Excellent cross-functional communication skills and the ability to lead a design team's workflow without formal creative authority over the work itself.
  • Proficiency with product lifecycle management (PLM), project management, or similar tracking tools.
