Job summary

CommScope Datacenter Solutions in North Carolina seeks a Product Development Engineer to design and advance rollable ribbon fiber cable products. The role collaborates with Product Management, Operations, and Quality across the Claremont and Catawba facilities.

You will lead development projects, create test plans, and drive cost-effective innovations while maintaining safety and quality standards in a dynamic datacenter environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in mechanical, electrical, or related engineering.
• 5+ years of related experience preferred.
• Experience in Inside Plant fiber optic cable design and manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop new fiber optic cable products, including materials and construction.
• Manage projects using the company’s project management system.
• Serve as a technical contact for internal/external stakeholders for fiber products.
• Develop, schedule, and implement projects.
• Participate in industry standards development.
• Develop test plans, analyze data, and prepare reports.
• Drive cost reduction and innovation initiatives.
• Support factories and coordinate work between Claremont and Catawba facilities.
