Job summary

Amcor is seeking a Product Development Engineer to join the Bottles Product Development team. You will own technical aspects from concept through production, coordinating with Customers, Sales, Design Engineers, PMs, R&D, Manufacturing and other groups to create next generation packaging solutions.

You will lead multi-function teams, manage project plans, and ensure quality and regulatory adherence while communicating with stakeholders and driving profitability and growth across North America.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience in product development and bottle manufacturing.
• Willingness to travel as needed.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge in SPC/DOE/MiniTab statistical methods.

Responsibilities

• Lead a multi-functional team through development of new products from concept to production.
• Drive the project plan to deliver on time, within budget, and within scope.
• Oversee product and tooling design; lead ideation, analyses and design reviews.
• Coordinate the Technical Development Plan for RFQs or Business Cases including costs.
• Lead technical communication with internal and external stakeholders.
• Report deviations on time, cost, and deliverables to senior management.
• Ensure adherence to Berry, regulatory, and ISO processes.
• Collaborate with Quality to establish critical to quality metrics and validate process capability.

Job Description

Amcor Rigid Packaging Solutions North America has an immediate need for a Product Development Engineer . As a member of the Bottles Product Development team, this role will have responsibility for all technical aspects of a development project from initiation through full production capability. This position will work closely with Customers, Sales, Design Engineers, Project Managers, R&D, Manufacturing, Engineering Support Service groups, and Product line Management to develop next generation products that drive profitability and growth.

Responsibilities

• Lead a multi-functional team through the development of new products from concept, manufacturing implementation, and commercial launch.

• Has responsibility for execution of the project plan and driving decisions to deliver the project on time, within budget, and within scope.

• Responsible for oversight of the product and tooling design, which includes leading ideation sessions, conducting competitive analysis, documenting design requirements, DFMEA, and leading design reviews to ultimately gain team alignment.

• Coordinate the Technical Development Plan that outlines all the details necessary for the Product Line Manager to respond to an RFQ or create a Business Case, including all cost inputs, capital equipment costs, and evaluation of the technologies required for the development and manufacturing.

• Lead technical communication with both internal and external stakeholders.

• Responsible for reporting deviations on time, cost, and deliverable project components to senior management as project progresses.

• Responsible for adherence to Berry, industry, and/or regulatory procedures as well as Management of Change, Stage Gate, and ISO processes.

• Work closely with Quality personnel to establish critical to quality metrics and to ensure process capability is validated for those metrics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or equivalent experience.

• Relevant experience in product development and manufacturing of bottles. Experienced in the multi-process such as EBM, SBM, & RHB.

• Ability to travel as needed

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Knowledge in statistical methods and programs (SPC/DOE/MiniTab)

• Self-motivated and assertive individual

• Ability to prioritize, multi-task, be a proactive thinker, and be results-oriented

• Project Management experience a plus

• Strong organizational skills with proven ability to complete multiple tasks simultaneously

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required for data driven decisions
