Job summary

Minth North America, Inc. in Wixom, MI, is seeking a Supplier Integrated Product Engineer to identify, develop, and launch cutting-edge automotive plastic products.

You will collaborate with engineering, design, materials, process, marketing, and sales to define requirements, create roadmaps, and drive successful product launches for GM components within GM engineering teams. The role emphasizes experience with injection-moulded plastics, CAD drawings, and coordination of releases with OEM

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience.
• GM supplier integration experience preferred (SI3) in plastics.
• Knowledge of injection-moulded plastics and joining techniques.
• Awareness of painting and chroming processes is a plus.
• Role stationed on GM site 3 days a week.

Responsibilities

• Develop and launch new automotive plastic products, especially pillar exterior trim components.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements and ensure alignment with customer needs.
• Conduct market research to identify new product opportunities and validate concepts.
• Manage product development of Minth-provided plastic parts.
• Coordinate engineering changes with the cross-functional team.
• Ensure drawings and CAD are completed and released.
• Ensure OEM releases comply with guidelines.

Role: Supplier Integrated Product Engineer

Location: Wixom MI (Onsite)

Duration: Full Time Perm

Job Description

The Supplier Integrated Product Engineer will be responsible for identifying, developing, and launching new and cutting-edge automotive plastic products. They will work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, design, materials, process, marketing, and sales, to define product requirements, create product roadmaps, conduct R&D activities, communicate with the customer's early development department and ensure successful product launches for GHM Plastics components while working integrated into the GM engineering teams.

• Develop and execute future automotive products, primarily but not limited to Pillar exterior trim components.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define product requirements and ensure alignment with customer needs
• Conduct market research & analysis to identify new product opportunities & validate product concepts
• Manage the product development of Minth-provided plastic parts
• Work with the CFT to initiate and follow up on engineering changes
• Ensure drawings and CAD are completed and reviewed prior to release
• Ensure releases are completed internally and externally with OEM per their guidelines

To qualify for this role, you must meet the following:

• Academic degree: Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent degree
• Work Experience (Company type/Area/Years): 5 years minimum
• Prefer GM Supplier Integration Engineering experience (SI3) in Green House Moldings/Plastics area but open to previous experience working on GM projects in some capacity
• Knowledge of injection-moulded plastics, joining techniques, and general assembly is required
• It is also desired to have some awareness/knowledge of Painting & chroming processes
• This role will be stationed in GM 3 days a week
