The LHH is seeking a Product Development Engineer for a Direct Hire, Permanent Placement position with a manufacturing client located in Indianapolis, Indiana. In this role, you will lead new product development initiatives from concept through commercialization while partnering with cross‑functional teams to deliver high‑quality solutions that meet customer and business objectives. The compensation is commensurate to experience and will range between $85K and $115K per year and includes comprehensive benefit and insurance plans, generous Paid Time Off, and a 401K plan with a company match.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead product development projects from concept through commercial launch.
- Design and develop innovative products to meet customer requirements.
- Create prototypes and evaluate designs through testing and analysis.
- Develop engineering specifications, drawings, and technical documentation.
- Generate and maintain quality system records and supporting documentation.
- Create verification and validation plans, protocols, and test methods.
- Analyze test results and recommend design improvements.
- Develop CAD models and engineering design packages.
- Ensure products are manufacturable using design‑for‑manufacturing principles.
- Partner with quality, operations, marketing, and product management teams.
- Support patent submissions and technical intellectual property documentation.
- Coordinate development activities with global engineering partners.
- Participate in risk assessments, design reviews, and project meetings.
- Support product transfers from development into production environments.
- Communicate project status, milestones, risks, and technical findings.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Product Design, or related discipline is required.
- Minimum of 3+ years of product development engineering experience within the manufacturing industry is required.
- Must have experience developing products through the complete product lifecycle from concept through commercialization.
- Must have experience with CAD design, engineering documentation, and prototype development.
- Ideal candidates will have experience with ISO 13485 or regulated quality systems.
