Job summary

Green Bay Packaging seeks a seasoned Technical Product Development professional to identify and develop opportunities within the pressure sensitive industry. You will partner across Sales, Marketing, customers and internal teams to define market needs and deliver robust, financially sound product solutions.

The role spans concept through qualification while keeping aligned with industry trends, reporting to the Technical Director. This is an on-site position at Green Bay, WI headquarters.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of technical/product development experience in a related industry.
  • BS degree in Chemical Engineering, Paper Science, or Material Science & Engineering; advanced degree a plus.
  • Background in paper and paper coatings; knowledge of pressure-sensitive papers, films, release liners and converting processes.
  • Hands-on experience with a variety of coating and converting process equipment.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Sales & Marketing to define gaps in GBP's product portfolio and identify new growth opportunities.
  • Work directly with customers to understand wants, needs and value of new technologies.
  • Develop new products that meet CTQs and are robust in design; define manufacturing and quality specifications.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing and Procurement on product/process developments and improvements to optimize margins.
  • Serve as an internal subject matter expert to GBP in all areas of paper.
  • Stay current on paper and coating technologies and trends through suppliers, customers, and industry conferences.
  • Lead timing of new raw material qualifications.
  • Support process optimization and troubleshooting at the manufacturing plant.
  • This is an on-site position at our Division Headquarters in Green Bay, WI.

Job description

Position Overview

This position is responsible for identifying and developing new product opportunities within the pressure sensitive industry to support Green Bay Packaging's (GBP's) growth strategy. The role works closely with Sales, Marketing, customers, and internal teams to define market needs and deliver robust, financially sound product solutions. This position ensures new product initiatives are well managed from concept through qualification while staying aligned with industry trends and technologies. The role reports directly to the Technical Director.

Responsibilities
  • Partner with Sales & Marketing to define gaps in GBP's product portfolio and identify new growth opportunities within the pressure sensitive industry.
  • Work directly with customers to understand and define their wants, needs & associated value of new technologies*
  • Developing new products that meet customer CTQs and are robust in design. Defining manufacturing and quality specifications for products.
  • Partnering with Manufacturing and Procurement teams on product developments, process developments, and process improvements with the goal of creating growth-enabling new products and optimizing profit margins.
  • Serving as an internal subject matter expert to GBP in all areas of paper.
  • Staying abreast of new paper and related coating technologies and evolving trends in the PSA industry through engagement with suppliers, customers, and industry conferences.
  • Leading new raw material qualifications in a timely fashion.
  • Supporting process optimization and troubleshooting in the manufacturing plant.
  • This is on-site position at our Division Headquarters in Green Bay, WI.
