Are you passionate about fashion, design, and trend research? Do you have an eye for color and detail, and the ability to turn creative concepts into technically sound designs? We're looking for a motivated
Apparel Designer to join our client's team and help bring trend-forward apparel collections to life.
As an Apparel Designer, you'll work closely with the Senior Designer to develop and execute compelling private label designs across specific product classifications. You'll be involved in every phase of the creative process-from researching trends and selecting artwork to working with cross-functional partners on prototypes and final execution.
Responsibilities:
- Design original apparel artwork and hangtag labels that align with brand strategy and consumer trends.
- Research color and fashion trends by shopping the market, attending trade shows, and using color/trend services.
- Collaborate with Product Development from concept to final prototype.
- Build and manage sketch libraries, concept boards, and color palettes.
- Select, brief, and manage freelance talent for artwork creation.
- Communicate clearly across departments and vendors, maintaining timelines and project priorities.
- Purchase samples and original artwork within the R&D budget.
- Contribute to seasonal direction and recommend creative concepts that align with the strategic merchandise plan.
Qualifications:
- 1+ years of apparel design experience with a strong portfolio of work.
- Degree in Fashion Design or equivalent experience.
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Microsoft Office.
- Strong sketching ability and a developed sense for clothing design and construction.
- Experience with trend/color/concept research services.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced team environment.
