Job summary

Thrive Causemetics in Los Angeles, CA is seeking a Product Development Coordinator to support fast-growing product launches, shade extensions, and reformulations. You will assist the Product Development team with day-to-day tasks, maintain product assets, and coordinate with vendors and internal teams to keep projects on track.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities

  • Brainstorm new ideas/concepts with the PD team
  • Attend industry trade shows and conferences to stay informed on trends
  • Define quality benchmark prototypes
  • Track concepts and ideas from brainstorming sessions
  • Organize and maintain physical product bins and vendor submissions
  • Maintain digital product folders and PIFs including paperwork and approvals
  • Manage product sample receipts and shipping
  • Handle batch submission receipts and approvals
  • Coordinate safety testing for product submissions
  • Track milestone dates to ensure on-time deliverables
  • Support weekly team meetings and agenda notes
  • Schedule meetings with vendors (ingredients, formulators, packaging)
  • Review packaging artwork for primary/secondary packaging
  • Assist with new product formula submission forms/emails
  • Assist with other tasks as needed

We are looking for a Product Development Coordinator to support our rapid growth. The role would be responsible for assisting the Product Development team with a variety of tasks related to new product launches, shade extensions and reformulations. The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented and highly organized. Looking for an individual who enjoys working on several projects at one given time.

  • Work with the PD team to brainstorm new ideas/concepts.
  • Attend industry trade and trend shows, conferences and lectures to keep informed of new product and packaging directions and trends. Present synopsis to team.
  • Define quality benchmark prototypes
  • Participate in brainstorming research sessions and help track our concepts and ideas.
  • Responsible for organization and maintenance of physical product bins which hold lab and final masters, PPS samples, range boards and other important vendor submissions.
  • Responsible for maintenance of digital product folders and PIFs including vendor paperwork, formula approvals, test results, product artwork, and other product assets.
  • Manage product sample receipts and shipping.
  • Manage batch submission receipts and approvals.
  • Help coordinate safety testing for product submissions.
  • Help track milestone dates to ensure all deliverables are provided on time.
  • Support Product Development team to prep for weekly team meetings; note / agenda keeper.
  • Help schedule meetings with all vendors (raw ingredients, formulators and packaging).
  • Review Product Development related artwork for primary and secondary packaging.
  • Assist with new product formula submission forms / emails.
  • Assist with other tasks and projects as needed.
  • Entry level position — Ideal candidate has beauty experience and/or passion and excitement for the beauty category. 1+ years related work experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to communicate effectively to internal teams and peers.
  • Team player mentality with entrepreneurial spirit
  • Proficient in Google Suite applications, Microsoft Office, and general computer operation
  • Must be able to demonstrate an excellent eye for detail
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to work as part of a team and complete other tasks, as assigned.
  • US citizenship or permanent residency required.

The base pay range for this role is $28.00 - $32.00 per hour with the following factors determining the base pay at offer: skills, qualifications, experience. This range provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. Additionally, this role is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on company and individual performance.
