Job summary

Arclin USA in Moncure, NC is seeking a Product Development Chemist II to drive development of quality resin products and optimize production for customers. The role involves lab experiments, syntheses, routine testing and troubleshooting, with collaboration across applications, production, sales and marketing.

The successful candidate will have a BSc in Chemistry, 3-5 years of industrial chem lab experience (MS degree can substitute for two years) and strong skills in experimental design,

Qualifications

• BSc in Chemistry required; MS degree may substitute for 2 years of experience.
• 3–5 years’ experience in an industrial chemical lab.
• Knowledge of formaldehyde-based phenolic and amino resins is a plus.
• Understanding of resin production processes and experimental design.

Product Development Chemist II Job, Moncure, NC

• Plan and execute projects to develop quality resin products and existing product production optimization for Arclin customers. This includes: conducting lab experiments, syntheses, routine testing and production troubleshooting
• Provide technical support to the application group, production and sales in compliance with ISO standards. Participate in product design and customer meetings as required
• Maintain accurate and complete records of work results and activities; Provide technical support to HSE group on product MSDS and the Supply Chain group for raw material sourcing
• Maintain a clean and safe lab environment in compliance with Arclin HSE policies and procedures. Ensure that all lab equipment is maintained and operating optimally

Arclin USA is currently looking to fill a Product Development Chemist II Job at our Moncure, NC location. Reporting to the R&T Director, This position is responsible for designing and executing new product development tasks associated with the development of innovative chemistry based products (resins) and solutions which support Arclin’s product development strategy. This position operates within the parameters of Arclin’s policies and procedures and will provide product expertise to R&T, Sales, Manufacturing, and Marketing groups.

Product Development Chemist II Job Qualifications

• Bachelors of Science in Chemistry (BSc)
• 3-5 years’ experience within an industrial chemical laboratory environment; MS degree will substitute for two years of experience
• Knowledge of the chemistry of formaldehyde based phenolic and amino resins an asset.
• Basic understanding of the engineering processes used in resin production.
• Knowledge of experimental design, laboratory equipment and project planning skills.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to document and write technical reports.
• Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills.
• Proficiency in the use of computer software (MS Office, etc.)
