• 5+ years of experience in product development within the fashion industry, focusing on apparel.
• Strong understanding of the fashion design and production process from concept to final product into production.
• Experience with CAD software, design tools, google sheets, power point and excel are a must.
• Knowledge of garment construction, textiles, and the manufacturing processes including printing techniques, fit, grading, garment construction, and fabrications.
• Excellent project management skills with the capacity to manage multiple timelines and prioritize tasks efficiently.
• Strong attention to detail, creativity, and problem-solving aptitude.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to thrive under pressure and handle fast-paced environments while maintaining a detail-oriented focus.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities

• The Product Developer is a crucial role that guides the creation of apparel in various categories (Adults, Kids in Activewear, Sleepwear, Socks etc.)
• Must have the ability to create initial specs for the 1st round of development samples
• This position involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams, including design, technical, and production, to guarantee that products align with brand standards, are produced effectively, and are delivered to the market on schedule
• Conduct market research to pinpoint trends, consumer needs, and the competitive landscape to inform product development strategies
• Oversee the complete product development lifecycle, Work closely with design teams to fine-tune product details, ensuring quality, fit, and functionality meet brand standards
• Experience supporting development across multiple apparel categories preferred.
• Manage sourcing materials, fabrics, trims, and components, collaborating with suppliers to ensure delivery time and cost efficiency
• Create and Maintain Tech Packs for new styles in specific categories
• Ensure all products meet the required quality standards and are manufactured according to specifications
• Partner with manufacturers and suppliers to address production issues, ensuring that products are delivered on time and within budget
• Conduct initial sample fittings of proto samples with designers before passing off to the Technical Designers.
• Help identify potential development risks and elevate issues to support on-time delivery
• Help translate design concepts into clear development requirements for vendors
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams (e.g., design, technical and production) to streamline processes and ensure smooth project flow
• Monitor and adjust project timelines as needed to stay aligned with product development goals
• Communicate with overseas vendors to track sample status, timelines, and development updates
• Ensure vendors are meeting sampling timelines and development expectations
• Collaborate with Technical Design to help maintain product intent through the development process
• Assist in evaluating construction feasibility and recommend improvements where appropriate
• Proficiency in PLM is not required but is a plus complete understanding of Microsoft office
• Kids and Plus product development experience is a plus
