The Product Development Associate position will support all areas of PlanMember’s product platform including research, implementation, maintenance, and marketing collateral. The role will work cross departmentally across the organization to perform key duties and responsibilities, as well as serve as a resource for other departments on all things involving the product platform.
Location Information: On-Site at our Carpinteria, CA Headquarters
Salary Range: Starting salary is between $65,000 and $80,000 annually, however, it is ultimately determined by the scope of the position the candidate’s relevant experience, credentials/certifications and internal equity. Responsibilities
- Collaborate cross-departmentally to develop new and maintain existing product sales materials, forms and applications, and other collateral materials
- Maintain master product files for all platform products
- Perform due diligence analysis of investment managers for sub-advised products
- Assist with quarterly plan reporting and product maintenance processes
- Develop training materials and assist with spreading product knowledge throughout company
- Assist with oversight of advisor software tools including issue resolution, soliciting user feedback, interfacing with developers and testing of new features
- Interface with existing and prospective product vendor partners
- Perform competitor research
- Perform analysis of product returns, revenue, expenses, compensation and profitability
- Assist with planning, organizing and coordinating various departmental and cross-departmental projects
- Assist with preparation project plans and project progress tracking
- Maintain all project-related documentation
- Produce agendas and minutes for Retail Platform and Strategic Development meetings
- Assist with corporate calendar maintenance (recurring meetings, reminders, etc.)
- Assist with administration of project management system (SmartSheet)
Qualifications
- Strong analytical skills; statistical knowledge is a plus.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage both short-term and long-term projects effectively.
- Strong listening skills with the ability to document follow-up actions.
- Proactive research skills and ability to seek out necessary information.
Education
- Two years of preferred experience in financial services and/or retirement planning, with a focus on 401(k), 403(b), and 457(b) plans.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word; familiarity with web-based tools.
- Ability to write SQL queries is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree (any major) required

Additional License and/or Certification Information
- FINRA Licenses: Series 24 (or 26) preferred.
- CFP or CFA designation is a plus.
