Job summary

KLA is seeking a Product Development Applications Engineer in Hillsboro, OR to support metrology issue resolution, technology transfer, and training. You will collaborate with R&D, Engineering, and field teams to define new products and validate systems while managing project schedules and ensuring timely delivery.

Qualifications include a Master’s degree (or Bachelor’s with experience), strong communication and writing skills, and knowledge of metrology techniques and analytical testing methods

  • Ability to develop training material and collateral.

  • Knowledge of metrology, spectroscopy, titration and HPLC.

Responsibilities

  • Support field efforts to resolve metrology issues and analyze process results.
  • Coordinate technology transfer from factory to field for readiness.
  • Develop collateral and deliver training programs.
  • Work with field and factory on systems qualification.
  • Contribute to new technology development and product definition.
  • Manage project schedules and ensure on-time delivery.
  • Apply engineering principles to area project activities and interactions.
  • Diagnose and resolve basic customer issues; assist with reporting.

There is never a dull moment with us.**Job Description/Preferred Qualifications*** Support field efforts to resolve metrology issues: + Analyze process results and indicators to assess equipment performance and make recommendations on performance improvement + Crisis management with sound problem solving skills and project management skills + Coordinate with factory and field on technical requests and provide timely solution* Coordinate transfer of technology from factory to field to ensure readiness and understanding of new metrology systems: + Develop collateral material used to support field resolution of metrology issues + Develop and deliver training programs + Work with field and factory on systems qualification* Involved in new technology development and perform technology promotion to customers* Work with R&D and Engineering team process characterization and equipment preparation* Work with R&D and Engineering team on new product definition, risk assessment, package design, modeling and simulation* Oversee assigned project schedules with internal and external team, ensure on-time delivery* Understands engineering principles and techniques related to area project activities.* Working knowledge of major system components and their interactions.* Possesses generalist knowledge of technical areas covered by the department.* Good working knowledge of testing techniques such as spectroscopy, titration, and HPLC.* Good working knowledge of various applications such as wet etch, damascene, and packaging.* Ability to diagnose and resolve basic customer issues.* Strong communication skills especially technical writing skills.* Excellent analytical and problem solving skills* Self-motivated with ability to multi-task and learn quickly.* Proficiency with personal computers and industry-standard software applications (Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project etc.).* Ability to work alone and/or with limited supervision.* Expected travel is 30% both domestically and internationally**Minimum Qualifications**Master's Level Degree and 0 years related work experience; Bachelor's Level Degree and related work experience of 2 yearsBase Pay Range: $83,100.00 - $141,300.00 AnnuallyPrimary Location: USA-OR-Hillsboro-Beaverton-KLAKLA’s total rewards package for employees may also include participation in performance incentive programs and eligibility for additional benefits including but not limited to: medical, dental, vision, life, and other voluntary benefits, 401(K) including company matching, employee stock purchase program (ESPP), student debt assistance, tuition reimbursement program, development and career growth opportunities and programs, financial planning benefits, wellness benefits including an employee assistance program (EAP), paid time off and paid company holidays, and family care and bonding leave.
