Job summary

Ergodyne is seeking a Product Developer to partner with Product Management, Design and Engineering to bring innovative products from concept to production readiness. You will manage development projects, coordinate prototypes, and collaborate with global suppliers to ensure manufacturability, cost, and quality targets are met.

You will drive phase-gate processes, address technical challenges, and support successful product commercialization while advancing development practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline preferred.
  • 5-7+ years product development experience.
  • Proficiency using design software (Adobe Creative Suite, Keyshot, etc).
  • Proficiency using MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Familiarity with phase-gate product development processes and timeline management.

Description

Reporting to the Vice President of Product, the Product Developer partners with Product Management, Design & Engineering, Sourcing, Compliance, and global manufacturing partners to develop innovative, best-in-class products aligned with the Product Manager’s category roadmap and product vision.

This role leads the execution of assigned product development projects from concept through production readiness. Daily activities include translating product requirements into time-bound development plans, coordinating sample creation and reviews, managing technical development with factory partners, and ensuring products meet performance, quality, cost, and manufacturability objectives.

The Product Developer creates and manages project timelines within the company's phase-gate new product development process, resolves technical and development challenges through cross-functional collaboration, and helps ensure products are delivered on time and in accordance with approved requirements. Leveraging knowledge of product development processes, manufacturing methods, materials, and emerging technologies, this role supports successful product commercialization while driving continuous improvement in products and development practices.

Up to 15% travel, primarily international, is required. This position works in the office Monday through Thursday, with the option to work remotely on Fridays.

You have already accomplished (required):
  • Bachelor's degree in Technical or Industrial Design, Apparel Product Development, Manufacturing Technology, or a related technical discipline preferred.
  • 5-7+ years product development experience
  • Proficiency using common design software (Adobe Creative Suite, Keyshot, etc)
  • Proficiency using MS Office systems (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Familiarity with phase gate product development processes and timeline management
You may have already accomplished (preferred):
  • Additional degrees related to business or product development (Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain, Operations Management, etc.)
  • Familiarity with relevant manufacturing methods, materials, and standards in assigned product categories

Key Job Duties
  • Actively manage assigned product development projects from concept through production readiness in alignment with product requirements as outlined by the Product Manager in the Product Scope Document (PSD) and sample reviews
  • Coordinate prototype and development sample creation, facilitate sample reviews, document findings, and communicate revisions to suppliersPartner with Product Management, Design, Engineering, Sourcing, and Compliance to resolve challenges during development
  • Collaborate with domestic and international suppliers to resolve technical issues, optimize manufacturability, and prepare products for production
  • Execute and document product development process from concept approval through production readiness
  • Improve existing products through enhancements in manufacturability, performance, quality, materials, cost, and production processes
  • Manage multiple product development projects simultaneously, maintaining project schedules, milestones, risks, and deliverables within the company's phase-gate process
  • Represent Ergodyne during supplier meetings to clarify product requirements, coordinate development activities, and drive project execution
  • Build and maintain technical expertise in assigned product categories, manufacturing processes, materials, supplier capabilities, and applicable industry standards
  • Support Voice of Customer (VOC) activities, product evaluations, and field testing by incorporating feedback into development refinements and product improvements
  • Attend supplier meetings, trade shows, and industry events to support product development, manufacturing partnerships, and technical knowledge
  • Travel domestically and internationally to evaluate manufacturing capabilities, support supplier development, validate production readiness, and advance development projects

The salary range for this role is $90,000-$120,000 annually.

Actual compensation will be determined on an individual basis and may vary depending on experience, skills, qualifications, and work location, and thus may differ from the posted range. Base salary is just one part of your total reward package.
