Job summary

The Bernard Group Inc. in Chanhassen, MN is seeking a Product Developer to design, build, and test prototypes of in-store displays and graphics for Retail, Brand Marketers & Intermediaries.

This role requires basic prototype development experience and collaboration with Sales, Design and Engineering teams to deliver world-class products. You will also work with Estimating, Sourcing and Production to ensure successful builds, and you will lead team members on proper build techniques and methods

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Engineering, CAD, Drafting or similar trade experience is preferred.
• High mechanical aptitude is required.
• Proficiency with PC skills using MS Windows is required.
• Experience with CAD and drafting tools is preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering, production and shop drawings.
• Must pay close attention to details and complete projects accurately within deadlines.
• Must be self-motivated, quick learner, and able to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and test prototypes according to customer requirements and/or vision.
• Learn about raw materials and manufacturing processes for display components (injection molding, plastics, wood cabinetry, metal/wire).
• Operate small equipment, saws, drills, and heat-related processes.

We are looking for an experienced Product Developer to join our team. You’ll be part of a talented group that collaborates to deliver world class products to our customers. In this role, you will provide innovative mechanical designs, concepts, and prototypes of in-store displays and graphics for Retail, Brand Marketers & Intermediaries (i.e. Fixture Manufacturers). This position requires basic knowledge and capabilities of prototype development and will work closely with internal teams including Sales, Design, and Engineering, as well as Estimating, Sourcing, and Production, to accomplish this task. You will also act as lead to counsel team members on proper build techniques and methods.

Shift available:Monday through Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, onsite at our Chanhassen, MN location
