Job summary

Ford Motor Company is seeking a Product Development Engineer (PDE) to lead assigned programs from initial concept through production launch, working with suppliers, program managers, product planners, and manufacturing teams to ensure safety, regulatory, and quality requirements are met.

The role requires strong engineering judgment and collaboration across Ford and Lincoln teams to deliver successful launches.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university.
• Demonstrated experience in product development, engineering, design and release.
• Strong understanding of product development processes, engineering principles, vehicle systems, and manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering activities for assigned programs from concept through production launch, including commercial accessories.
• Lead discussions, design reviews, and weekly status meetings with leadership and cross-functional teams.
• Coordinate validation and testing for vehicle integration across plants, centers, and dealers.
• Review and approve validation evidence, engineering documentation, and sign-offs supporting product release.
• Build supplier relationships and provide engineering direction aligned with ESOW requirements and timelines.
• Coordinate model-year impacts with base vehicle engineers for accessory compatibility and validation.
• Provide technical guidance to new engineers and support continuous improvement through AI and new technologies.
