Job summary

Epiroc is seeking a Product Detailer to perform detailing, finishing, and final inspection of drilling rigs onsite in Garland, TX. Responsibilities include preparing equipment for shipment, coordinating with logistics, and ensuring safety standards are met.

The role requires knowledge of packing/shipping standards, ability to read drawings, and proficiency with MS Office/ERP systems. A high school diploma or GED is required and Lean manufacturing knowledge is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with quality control to identify and correct imperfections.
  • Pack and secure equipment for shipment using appropriate materials and labeling.
  • Generate shipping documentation and coordinate with logistics providers.
  • Track outgoing shipments and manage packing materials inventory.
  • Adhere to OSHA and company safety standards while handling heavy equipment.
  • Suggest Lean improvements to streamline detailing and shipping processes.
  • Communicate with production, logistics and customer service to align delivery timelines.

Job description

Product Detailer – Epiroc

Work Type: Onsite

Shift Timings: 7:30AM — 3:30PM

Responsibilities
  • Detailing and Finishing: Clean, polish, install decals and inspect all surfaces of the drilling rig to ensure they meet quality and aesthetic standards before shipment.
  • Final Inspection Support: Collaborate with quality control to identify and correct any imperfections or inconsistencies.
  • Packing and Securing Equipment: Prepare components and assemblies for shipment by selecting appropriate packing materials, securing items to prevent damage, and labeling crates or containers accurately.
  • Shipping Coordination: Generate shipping documentation as required, coordinate with logistics providers, load equipment for transportation and ensure timely dispatch of rigs and components.
  • Inventory and Materials Handling: Track outgoing shipments, manage packing materials inventory, and report discrepancies or shortages.
  • Safety and Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols when handling heavy equipment and hazardous materials, ensuring compliance with OSHA and company standards.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline detailing and shipping processes in alignment with Lean principles.
  • Cross-Department Collaboration: Communicate with production, logistics, and customer service teams to ensure alignment on delivery timelines and customer requirements.

The work environment for this role involves both driving and physical delivery activities. The position requires frequent bending, lifting, carrying, and loading/unloading of heavy items—typically up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds.

Extended periods of sitting while driving are expected, along with performing pre‑and post‑trip vehicle inspections and basic maintenance checks. Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be required, depending on delivery site requirements.
