Job summary

Epiroc in Garland, TX is hiring an Assembler to join our onsite production team. You will install hydraulic and mechanical components, mount engines and gear boxes, and assemble hydraulic products per work instructions.

Use cranes for lifting, maintain 5S cleanliness, and report safety issues to supervision. Two years of assembly experience is preferred along with basic reading of schematics and familiarity with ERP systems.

Qualifications

  • Requires High School Diploma or GED.
  • Able to read blueprints and schematics.
  • Experience with hydraulic/mechanical components preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Install and connect hydraulic and mechanical components and systems.
  • Mount, hook-up and connect engines, gear boxes, axles and other power components.
  • Assemble hydraulic products per work instructions and tighten bolts/hydraulic hoses.
  • Rigging and lifting of components using a crane.
  • Maintain cleanliness and follow 5S in the assembly area.
  • Report defective materials or safety risks to supervisor.

Join Our Team as a Assembler at Epiroc!

Work Type: Onsite

Shift Timings: Monday – Friday from 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM

Responsibilities:

  • Install and connect hydraulic and mechanical components and systems
  • Mount, hook-up and connect engines, gear boxes, axles and other power components and units
  • Assemble mounted hydraulic products which includes the installation and tightening of common bolts and hydraulic hoses per work instructions
  • Rigging and lifting of components using a crane
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the assembly area and perform 5S activities
  • Detect and report defective materials, faulty operation, and unusual conditions to immediate Supervisor
  • Follow prescribed safety regulations and guidelines
  • Identify and report safety risks
  • Maintain work related records and reports
  • Perform other duties as required or directed

Occasional, Infrequent

  • Train new hires
  • Complete appropriate paperwork for rejected parts
  • Return to Stock (RTS) non-required parts to the Warehouse

Knowledge/Education:

  • Formal Education Requirement: High School Diploma or GED required
  • Knowledge of safe working practices in a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of mechanical components/systems
  • Knowledge of hydraulic components/systems
  • Knowledge of electrical components/systems
  • Basic knowledge of troubleshooting
  • Basic computer skills including MS Office, ERP Systems, etc.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing preferred

Skills and Abilities:

  • Minimum Years of Experience Necessary: 2 years assembly experience
  • Able to use and comprehend specifications, blueprints, and schematics
  • Utilizing hand and power tools

The work environment involves regular exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, and airborne particles. Employees are required to lift up to 25 pounds regularly, up to 50 pounds frequently, and occasionally lift 100 pounds or more. The role may also require climbing heights of 4–6 feet using ladders and operating powered industrial trucks to reach elevations of up to 50 feet.

This position is designated as safety-sensitive.Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required while on the production floor or testing area. PPE includes Hard Hat or Bump Cap, Safety Glasses & Steel Toe Shoes.
