Job summary

Stripe is seeking a senior product designer to take ownership of two internal tool spaces—Developer Productivity and Collaboration—working with engineers and PMs to deliver intuitive, scalable interfaces. This role balances discovery, problem framing, and hands-on design across surfaces critical to Stripe’s internal operations.

You’ll lead end-to-end design, contribute to a unified design system, and advocate for users who are often underserved by customer-facing experiences.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of product design experience with strong UX thinking and visual craft; ability to navigate ambiguity.
• Experience designing tools for complex or data-heavy workflows (internal tools, developer tools, ops platforms, or similar is a strong plus).
• Comfortable leading discovery, writing a problem brief, designing and prototyping, and shipping independently.
• Strong systems thinker with a knack for reusable components and structural design.
• Collaborative and direct communicator who aligns cross-functional stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end design for internal tools portfolio—including discovery, problem framing, interaction design, prototyping, and implementation support.
• Partner with engineering and product managers to define requirements and translate into usable design solutions.
• Conduct lightweight research and usability sessions with internal users to validate decisions and surface unmet needs.
• Contribute to a consistent design language across internal tools in coordination with the Sail Design team and Stripe design system.
• Make design trade-offs and ship pragmatic solutions to move the product forward.
• Raise the bar for internal product design and advocate for users who are underserved by customer-facing surfaces.
