Product Designer / Industrial Engineer (Equity + Stipend)

Product Designer / Industrial Engineer (Equity + Stipend)

We’re developing an innovative children’s consumer product and are looking for a creative and hands-on designer or engineer to join as an early contributor. This candidate will be able to take product ideas and transform them into thoughtful, functional solutions that resonate with families.

You’ll work alongside a founder with 10+ years of eCommerce and product launch experience to develop something practical, playful, and scalable.

Mechanical Engineer – Materials, prototyping, manufacturability

Creative Designer (Optional) – Logo, packaging, visual brand identity

Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely to understand user needs and translate them into compelling product concepts
• Design and iterate on prototypes — from sketches to 3D models to working samples
• Work with internal partners (marketing, operations, retail strategy) to define launch timelines
• Consider cost constraints and production feasibility in all design phases
• Adapt to feedback quickly and refine based on user input and testing

Qualifications

• Product Design, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
• 1-2 years of hands-on experience in physical product development
• Strong creative, technical, and communication skills
• Portfolio showing product or concept design experience
• Comfortable using tools like CAD, Illustrator, and Microsoft Office
• Bonus: Experience with family/kids product categories or DFM principles
