Job summary

STEAMe LLC, a workforce technology company, seeks a Product Designer to own end-to-end UX across four products. You’ll conduct user research, prototype rapidly, and partner with product managers and engineers to bring new solutions to market.

You will refine our design system, create wireframes and style guides, and help shape the product roadmap. Hybrid work in Chicago, with 3 days remote and 2 days in-office, and a salary band of $90,000 to $110,000.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience across user research and UI/UX design (or 2+ years with a UX/UI program/degree)
• Portfolio demonstrating research-led design of products
• Strong grasp of user-centered design processes and methodologies
• Proficiency with Figma and usability testing platforms
• Experience in agile environments guiding product decisions through research and iterations
• Experience designing responsive, accessible (WCAG) interfaces for desktop, tablet, and mobile

Responsibilities

• Own user research to define problems and prioritization
• Design end-to-end experiences using a design-thinking approach
• Create rapid mockups and prototypes for discovery and validation
• Organize and lead user testing sessions for new features
• Collaborate with engineering to ensure design specs are implemented
• Contribute to product roadmap and define requirements
• Leverage AI tools to enhance design workflows
