Job summary

LMI is seeking a Product Designer to shape applications and workflows for a U.S. Army modernization program. The role owns the user experience from discovery through delivery and requires an active Secret clearance.

Onsite presence is required for those near Arlington, VA or Aberdeen, MD, with remote options for other locations. You will lead discovery with Army users, translate workflows into concepts and prototypes, and collaborate with developers to ensure mission-focused designs that scale

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in a relevant field.
• 5+ years in product design or related field.
• Owns complex digital products from discovery to production delivery.
• Strong user research, workflow design, prototyping and usability testing.
• Experience with data-intensive applications or operational workflows.
• Collaborates closely with application development teams.
• Portfolio of relevant product-design work.
• Proficient with Figma or similar tools.
• Experience supporting a DoD customer.
• Active Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead continuous product discovery with Army users and stakeholders.
• Translate mission workflows into product concepts, user journeys, prototypes, and interface designs.
• Validate designs through user research, usability testing, and direct feedback.
• Partner with application developers throughout design and implementation.
• Shape product priorities by linking user needs, technical constraints, and mission outcomes.
• Establish reusable design patterns and maintain consistency across apps.
• Represent the user experience in product and technical decisions.
