Job description

Sprints is a rapidly scaling athletic gear brand with a mission is to make funner gear for athletes. Ranging from headwear to apparel and accessories, Sprints has become known for its iconic patterns, bold colorways, and deep belief that performance and style are equally important for today's athlete.

The Role

As our Product Designer for Accessories, you'll own the full lifecycle of new styles across hats, bags, eyewear, socks, towels, and beyond, from concept and research through production. You'll bring the market and materials insight that shapes what we make, define the design direction for new styles, and build the tech packs and specs that bring your vision to life. Because no two categories are built the same way, you'll need to move fluidly between construction types, from fit-driven pieces to hardware and function-driven ones, and hold our factories to the standard our athletes expect. This is a hands-on role with real ownership over how our product comes to life across every category you touch.

What You'll Own
  • Design Direction and R&D: Bringing market, materials, and construction research to the table across categories as different as headwear, bags, and eyewear, and using it to shape concepts and briefs
  • New Style Development: Designing new accessories end to end, from concept sketches through the tech packs and specs that bring them to life, adapting your approach to what each category actually demands
  • Sample Process: Owning samples end to end, from first proto through approval, across categories with very different construction and hardware
  • Fit & Function Testing: Running fit sessions where fit applies (hats, socks, eyewear) and function/wear testing where it doesn't (bags, towels), and owning specs and grading across our size and category range
  • Development Calendar: Keeping styles on schedule and flagging risk to the timeline early
  • Factory Correspondence: Serving as the day-to-day point of contact with our factory partners on both new development and current production
  • Quality Control: Holding factories accountable to production quality and catching issues before they reach the customer
  • Costing Input: Partnering on costing conversations by understanding the construction and material tradeoffs behind the number
What We're Looking For
  • Experience: Design experience across accessories or hard goods — headwear, bags, eyewear, or similar
  • Design and Technical Skill: Strong design sensibility paired with tech pack development, and the construction fluency to move between soft goods, hardware, and fit-driven builds
  • Factory Relationships: Experience communicating directly with overseas factories on development and production
  • Detail Oriented: Organized, thorough, and able to keep multiple styles moving at once without losing track of the details
  • Industry: Experience with or real interest in the sports, running, or active lifestyle space
Who Thrives Here

You're energized by building, not maintaining. You want to roll up your sleeves and do the work, and you're excited by the chance to help architect what we make next. You don't wait to be told what to look at, you find the problems, flag them, and come with solutions. Ambition is welcomed here, and so is having fun while you do it.
