Cleo is building the world's first AI financial assistant and is hiring a Staff Product Designer to sit within Core Experience, leading the product direction for platform UX and the design system.

You will collaborate with leadership to define philosophy, governance, and the future architecture of Cleo's AI-powered financial tools, balancing speed, clarity, and scale for a global user base.

I'm excited to be growing the Experience Chapter as Cleo enters its next stage of scale. We're a team of 50 designers, researchers and writers working at the cutting edge of AI. We care deeply about clarity of thinking, creating exceptional end-to-end experiences and delivering high-quality work at every stage of the design process. We've spent the past six months overhauling how great product gets made at Cleo, with the latest tools and models built into our process. Many of the team work directly in code, building our own design tools, creating high fidelity prototypes and shipping to production. But, it's not only a process change - it's a product change. We're rethinking the UX of the product from the ground up, around fully agentic financial assistants that can run your financial life. We expect our people to get genuinely close to the business, take real ownership of problems, and move comfortably between big picture thinking and the detail of making something incredibly good. It's an exciting time to join: so much of this is being built for the first time. We are currently hiring a Staff Product Designer to sit within Core Experience, the team responsible for platform UX, information architecture, and the design system. At Staff level, your mandate extends beyond stewardship. You will define the philosophy and future direction of how Cleo works. You'll be responsible for:

• Product & Platform Vision - Define the long-term vision for Cleo’s AI-driven financial platform
• Architect multi-year product frameworks that unify credit, subscriptions, savings, with an AI agentic layer tying it together
• Shape how AI works across the product in ways that feel clear, responsible, and empowering
• Design scalable mental models that reduce financial complexity at scale
• Align navigation, IA, and behavioural flows across the full lifecycle
• Anticipate future product expansion and ensure foundational decisions scale
• Strategic Influence Partner with executive leadership to shape product direction and roadmap priorities
• Translate ambiguous strategic bets into compelling product concepts and prototypes
• Establish experience principles that guide teams across the company
• Craft & Quality Bar Set the highest standard for visual, interaction, and systems craft
• Raise the ambition of what fintech can feel like
• Mentor designers and elevate thinking across the Experience org
• Design System Direction Provide strategic direction for the evolution of Cleo’s Design System as a platform asset
• Ensure the system enables both speed and expressive excellence
• Define governance and architectural direction in partnership with Core Experience leaders
• A company-level design leader operating through influence rather than authority
• A systems thinker who designs frameworks, not just features
• Deeply experienced in fintech or other complex, high-trust B2C domains
• Proven in shaping scaling products into durable platforms
