Job summary

Avenue Code is seeking a Product Designer with a service design mindset to contribute to the design and development of multiple products in a collaborative team. You will translate ideas into clear, actionable designs reflecting our standards and Apple-inspired design principles.

You will spend time researching, brainstorming, prototyping, and sharing ideas with designers, developers, and product managers, including presenting your work to the broader team.

Qualifications

• 8+ years total experience with 4+ years in product design, service design, or UI/UX.
• Portfolio showing work across iOS, web, or similar.
• Experience managing the full lifecycle of digital products with cross-functional teams.
• Experience mapping data flows across complex systems.
• Proficiency with Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, Keynote, or similar.
• Excellent communication and ability to present complex system operations.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with product managers, developers, and designers to define project goals and contribute to actionable design strategies.
• Create service blueprints, information architecture diagrams, data flows, user flows, wireframes, and prototypes for assigned projects.
• Assist with requirements gathering to ensure business needs are documented for the development team.
• Support and participate in workshops and presentations of design concepts to stakeholders and developers.
• Conduct user research and usability testing to gather insights and help inform design decisions.
• Contribute to DSI's design systems and component libraries, helping to maintain consistency in design language and brand guidelines.

Required Qualifications

• 8 + years of total experience with 4+ years of experience in product design, service design, or UI/UX with a portfolio showing work across digital platforms (iOS, web, or similar).
• Proven experience managing the full lifecycle of digital products, including design, launch, and ongoing maintenance, with close collaboration alongside product managers and engineers to ensure continuous improvement and user satisfaction.
• Experience mapping data flows across complex systems and a strong understanding of how data inputs can be utilized to drive the user experience.
• Proficiency with Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, Keynote, or similar design tools.
• Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex system operations and design concepts through prototypes, sketches, and presentations.
• Experience working in an iterative design process and openness to group critique.

A reasonable estimate of the current range for a Product Designer is from $70 to $75 hourly.
