Job summary

CoStar Group in Arlington, VA is seeking a Product Designer to collaborate with product and engineering teams to design and ship high‑quality user journeys on site.

You will partner with senior designers on strategy, flows, prototyping, and visual design, and use diverse research methods to understand customer needs. The role emphasizes usability, aesthetics, and building a scalable design system.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited in-person institution.
• 3+ years in product design, HCI, usability, or visual design.
• Strong sketching, prototyping, and evaluation of interaction design.
• Proficiency with design and prototyping tools.
• Knowledge of cross‑platform design for devices and apps.
• Experience in an agile environment and collaboration.

Join CoStar Group at Homes.com as a Product Designer in Arlington, VA (onsite), collaborating across product and engineering to design and ship high-quality user journeys.

Responsibilities

• Partner with senior designers on strategy, user flows, prototyping, and visual design
• Collaborate with product leads, researchers, engineers, marketing leads, and other designers across teams
• Use multiple research methods to understand customer needs, including surveys, interviews, observations, and data analysis
• Set a high design standard by balancing usability with aesthetic quality
• Deliver design solutions with wireframes, flows, mockups, prototypes, and related artifacts
• Contribute to the emerging design system by creating flexible solutions and helping evolve design practices
• Elevate team practices in user testing, research, and interaction design

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited, not-for-profit, in-person University or College
• Excellent design eye and ability to take designs from good to great
• 3+ years of experience in product design and/or human-computer interaction, usability and user interface design, and/or visual design
• Strong skills in sketching, prototyping, and evaluating interaction design
• Proficiency in design tools and prototyping tools
• Knowledge of interaction design best practices for cross-platform devices and applications
• Strong problem solving and critical thinking
• Experience working in an agile environment
• Track record of commitment to prior employers

Preferred qualifications

• Experience developing a Design System
• Experience establishing product metrics
• Experience utilizing AI in the design process
• Enjoy working with data, information, and presentation concepts, and collaborating with data-driven teams
• Interest in real estate (plus)

Compensation

• Base Compensation: $107,000.00 to $181,000.00 annually
