Job summary

Energy Jobline ZR is seeking a Product Design Engineer II for a direct-hire role in Eldridge, IA. You will design, develop, integrate, and validate mechanical components and systems to meet performance, quality, and reliability targets.

You will create 2D drawings and 3D CAD models, collaborating with Sales, Quality, and Manufacturing to ensure designs are practical and production-ready. A bachelor’s in engineering and 6+ years of product design experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering; mechanical or related fields accepted with relevant experience.
• Proficiency in at least one 3D CAD software (Creo, SolidWorks, PowerShape, Fusion 360).
• Proficiency in Creo.
• Minimum 6 years of product design experience.
• Design experience in the defense or firearms industry.
• Experience with systems engineering, requirements management, verification, and validation.
• Knowledge of GD&T per ASTM Y14.5-2009.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to read and create engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

• Design, update, and release production-ready drawings and models.
• Collaborate with Sales, Quality, Application Engineering, Process Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, and CNC Programming.
• Lead and participate in design reviews.
• Establish testing requirements; perform or support testing as needed.
• Interface with Production, Tooling, and other departments professionally.
• Communicate project progress and timelines to supervision.
• Ensure designs meet function, safety, and quality standards.
• Follow company procedures and protect company assets.
