Job summary

Sabre Industries, Inc. is seeking an Engineer I - Product Design to collaborate with the Telecom Products Group and Sabre departments to deliver innovative, production-feasible product designs.

You will create drawings, perform analyses, and ensure designs meet cost, manufacturability, and quality standards while supporting cross-functional teams and vendor relationships. A strong emphasis on engineering fundamentals and hands-on problem solving is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Structural or Mechanical Engineering (required).
• 1-2 years of design experience; FEA and/or Thermal Analysis preferred.
• 1-2 years of design for manufacturing preferred.
• 1-2 years telecom industry experience preferred.
• SolidWorks 3D design software proficiency (3 years min preferred).

Responsibilities

• Works with Telecom Products Group and others to create and implement new products, improve and standardize products and reduce cost.
• Designs aesthetically pleasing, thermally efficient and structurally sound products using FEA and other analysis methods.
• Produces production-ready designs considering manufacturability, cost, and labor requirements.
• Maintain and improve catalog part number system to reduce inventory and train others.
• Coordinate packaging requirements with drafting, inventory, shipping and other internal groups.
• Evaluate make vs buy and identify potential vendors to ensure multiple source options.
• Assist Operations, Manufacturing and Shipping to design jigs, fixtures and processes for manufacturing and packaging.
• Suggest design changes to reduce production cycle times and costs.
• Support development of manufacturing processes to improve efficiency and quality.
• Identify internal process improvements and implement solutions.
