Position Specifications
Top 4 Must Haves for the Ideal Candidate
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent. Master’s Degree preferred.
- 5+ years’ Consumer Product Development experience.
- 5+ years’ Manufacturing experience (related experience in plastic molding, metal fabrication, etc. preferred).
- Significant ProE/SolidWorks/3D CAD experience.
Company Overview
Based in Emporia, Kansas our client is an automotive aftermarket products manufacturer & distributor of towing electrical, winter snow and ice tools, fluid management tools, vehicle cleaning and vehicle accessory products.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Product development background and related CAD experience, including Solid Works and/or Pro/Engineer.
- Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, especially injection molding and metal fabrication.
- Strong creativity and communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Present new product ideas that fit the company’s policy to the Product Team.
- Assume full authority and responsibility for the completion of product development, product testing, and product design.
- Assume responsibility for the project budget to maintain the expenditures within the approved budget.
- Report on project status to the Engineering Manager and the Product Team as required.
- Assist Manufacturing Engineering in the determination and documentation of process instructions.
- Recommend action as needed to protect the rights of the company in patents, trademarks, and copyrights. Help secure patents on products where good claims will be allowed.
- Develop and approve Q.C. Standards as needed on new products being developed to assure a high quality standard is maintained.
Compensation
A meaningful compensation package will be developed for the successful candidate that includes a base salary, along with performance-based bonus.
