Job summary

Exco Electric in Louisiana seeks a Product Design Engineer to lead design, development, and manufacturing launches of innovative mechanical products. You will collaborate with suppliers, manufacturing teams, and cross-functional stakeholders to turn concepts into production-ready solutions.

Responsibilities include creating 3D models in SolidWorks, applying GD&T, performing FEA, and maintaining BOMs and PLM documentation to ensure manufacturability and cost efficiency throughout the product

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks for 3D modeling and drawing creation.
• Experience with GD&T and interpreting manufacturing prints.
• Experience creating and managing BOMs and engineering documentation.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
• Experience with FEA using SolidWorks Simulation or similar tools.
• Experience with suppliers and contract manufacturers.

Job Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical products and assemblies using SolidWorks.
• Create detailed 3D models, assemblies, engineering drawings, and manufacturing documentation.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks for 3D modeling, assemblies, and drawing creation.
• Experience with GD&T and manufacturing print interpretation.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and design-for-manufacturability principles.
• Experience creating and managing BOMs and engineering documentation.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
• Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) using SolidWorks Simulation or similar tools.
• Experience working with suppliers, sourcing teams, and contract manufacturers.
• Familiarity with PLM systems and product lifecycle management processes.
• Background in industrial, consumer, or high-volume manufactured products.
• Experience with value engineering and cost-reduction projects.
