Join us and help shape the future of aerospace and defense.

Pratt & Whitney is seeking a motivated and organized Product Definition Project Lead to support the Mechanical Systems, Externals, and Nacelles (MSEN) Engineering organization. This role focuses primarily on project management, ensuring Product Definition (PD) deliverables meet Component Integrated Product Team (CIPT) schedules, quality standards, and Engineering Knowledge System (EKS) requirements. This is a project-management-focused position rather than a traditional hands‑on Product Definition engineering role, with a direct impact on the successful execution of engineering deliverables and the development of reliable, innovative propulsion systems.

What You Will Do
  • Coordinate across CIPT, Design, Product Definition, industrial, and manufacturing teams to align priorities, manage resources, track progress, and ensure timely delivery. Responsibilities include work planning, task management, resource scheduling, commitment tracking, and status audits.
  • Manage engineering data in Teamcenter, collaborating with Digital Mock up (DMU)/PD teams to create and revise data driven by the Development Bill of Materials (BOM).
  • Coordinate with Component Integrated Product Team (CIPT), Design, PD, Industrial, and Manufacturing teams to ensure on‑time hardware deliveries and alignment with project schedules.
  • Execute Product Definition engineering standard work across preliminary design, detail design, and verification/validation phases, ensuring requirements, deliverables, and processes are complete and on schedule.
  • Prepare, package, and manage engineering change release documentation in UGS Teamcenter, ensuring changes are appropriately assigned for approvals.
  • Coordinate engineering changes in accordance with engineering standard work, delivering complete Model-Based Definition (MBD) and Technical Data Package (TDP) packages that meet quality and EKS requirements.
What You Will Learn
  • Product Definition processes and EKS requirements within Mechanical Systems, Externals, and Nacelles Engineering.
  • Engineering data management and product lifecycle workflows using Teamcenter and Siemens NX.
  • Engineering change coordination, approval workflows, and release documentation.
  • MBD and TDP package development and requirements.
  • Cross-functional project coordination, schedule management, and continuous improvement practices.
Qualifications You Must Have
  • Associate of Art / Associate of Science degree (or other 2-year post-high school training) and 10 years of relevant experience. Relevant experience in Product Definition, engineering data management using Teamcenter, engineering change processes, technical documentation (MBD/TDP), project lead /management, and/or cross‑functional collaboration within aerospace or mechanical systems engineering.
Qualifications We Prefer
  • Experience in engineering change process and PD EKS requirements.
  • Experience with Siemens NX graphics software and UGS Teamcenter software.
  • 5 years of experience with product definition processes/project management.
  • Experience with externals systems and hardware.
  • Experience in quality and continuous improvement culture.
  • Experience in team leadership, team building, and mentoring.
What We Offer
  • Eligible for Relocation.
