GE Vernova is hiring a Product Definition Engineer to shape wind turbine blade development from concept to industrialization. You will translate complex designs into precise documentation and support protobuilds at our Proto build facilities.

Collaborate with Engineering, Process Engineering, Quality, Sourcing, and Global Equipment Engineering to ensure data integrity and successful manufacturing handoffs. A BS in Mechanical/Aerospace and 5+ years in mechanical design, especially large-scale

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical design.
  • Proven track record leading a product definition phase for at least 1 full NPI cycle.

Responsibilities

  • Create CAD models and drawings for blade components and manage design changes.
  • Produce manufacturing and quality documentation for blade components and processes.
  • Perform stack-up analyses to meet design requirements.
  • Provide on-site support for protobuilds and validation activities.
  • Lead design evaluation and participate in technical/program reviews.

The Product Definition Engineer plays a pivotal role in the end‑to‑end lifecycle of our wind turbine blades. You will be responsible for translating complex design concepts into precise, high‑quality technical documentation that drives our development projects from initial design through to industrialization. A key aspect of this role is your presence at the intersection of engineering and manufacturing—you will provide critical design verification during the production startup at our Proto build factories, ensuring our innovations transition seamlessly from the drawing board to the field.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Creation of CAD models and drawings for the blade components and change in design implementation & management
  • Creation of manufacturing and quality documentation of the blade component/process
  • Stack‑up analysis to achieve various design requirements
  • On‑site support to ensure smooth start‑up of testblade, prototype and 0‑series production and supports in validation on the design and documentation during protobuild.
  • Executes the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements
  • Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews
  • Utilizes in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline, analytical thinking and technical experience to execute policy/strategy.

Basic Requirements

  • Academic Background: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace from an accredited university.
  • Professional Experience: Minimum of5 yearsof experience in mechanical design. Specifically focused on large‑scale composite structures or turbine blade components will be advantage.
  • Product Lifecycle: Proven track record of leading the product definition phase for at least1 full NPI (New Product Introduction)cycles, from conceptual design through to serial production.

Technical Expertise and Product Definition Experience

  • BOM Management: Demonstrated experience managing complexEBOMs (Engineering Bill of Materials)and MBOM containing500+ line items, ensuring 100% accuracy in parts integration and downstream manufacturing handoffs.
  • Tolerance Analysis: Proficiency in performingStack‑up Analysisand applyingGD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)per ASME Y14.5 standards to ensure a95% first‑time yieldduring assembly.
  • Manufacturing/Product documentation : Proficiency in building the manufacturing and other product documentation needed for manufacturing the blades in a factory
  • CAD Mastery: Modeling experience inSiemens NX or CATIA specifically with surfacing and large assembly management.
  • PLM Systems: Experience in using PLM software (e.g., Teamcenter or Enovia) for version control, change management (ECR/ECN), and data integrity.

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $89,300.00 and $148,700.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.
