Baseten is hiring a Product Data Scientist to set up how data drives product decisions on a fast-growing AI platform. You’ll work with founders, Product, and Engineering to decide what to measure, run experiments, and shape strategy.

You’ll analyze clickstream, product events, inference telemetry, and observability data to improve reliability, performance, adoption, and developer experience.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in product data science, product analytics, or quantitative roles.
• Deep SQL and Python fluency with large event datasets.
• Strong statistical judgment and hands-on experimentation experience.
• Forecasting with ARIMA or Prophet and backtesting.
• Experience designing medallion data architectures with testing and lineage.
• Familiarity with dbt, data ontology, and BI tools Sigma/Hex.

Responsabilités

• Partner with Product and Engineering to frame questions and turn analysis into roadmap decisions.
• Define product success metrics across activation, adoption, retention, expansion, reliability, and UX.
• Design measurement plans for launches, analyze A/B experiments and controlled rollouts, and turn results into decisions.
• Map the enterprise customer journey and measure feature adoption at each stage.
• Evaluate releases by measuring traffic shifts, warm-up, drain, probe, rollback, MTTR and self-serve incident outcomes.
• Analyze customer and cohort behavior and share actionable recommendations.
• Build source-of-truth reporting and self-serve tools for Baseten teams.
