Google Cloud seeks a Product Counsel to advise on a dynamic portfolio of enterprise AI products, collaborating with cross-functional teams on regulatory, privacy, and IP matters. The role involves navigating evolving AI regulations and providing strategic counsel to leadership.

The ideal candidate has significant experience with AI regulations and the ability to digest complex legal/technical issues for Product Leadership, with strong communication and collaboration skills.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor or equivalent legal degree required.
• Admitted to the bar or in-house equivalent in the posting state.
• Minimum 7 years attorney-level experience in government, in-house, or law firm.
• Experience advising on product compliance issues in fast-evolving environments.

Job description

In accordance with Washington state law, we are highlighting our comprehensive benefits package, which is available to all eligible US based employees. Benefits for this role include:

Minimum qualifications:

• JD, LL.B., equivalent degree, or equivalent practical experience.
• Admitted to the bar and in good standing or otherwise authorized to practice law (e.g., have registered in-house status) in the state in which the position is located.
• 7 years of attorney-level experience in government, in-house, or at a law firm.
• Experience advising clients on a variety of product compliance issues in a rapidly evolving environment.

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience analyzing policy/regulatory proposals and advocating business oriented positions/compliance strategies.
• Experience working on AI related matters/products (particularly enterprise generative AI offerings).
• Experience leading projects with clients and colleagues and directly advising the highest levels of executive leadership.
• Understanding of AI privacy and intellectual property law.

About The Job

Product Counsel in Google Cloud advises on a constantly-evolving portfolio of enterprise products. You will join the Cloud AI Product Counsel team supporting Cloud AI enterprise products and solutions (including of a robust portfolio of first party and third party generative AI offerings) and a variety of regulatory engagement and compliance workstreams. You will work with highly collaborative colleagues with top of the market expertise on some of the most complex challenges at the forefront of generative AI, including a broad spectrum of regulatory/policy/privacy/security/IP issues, strategic transactions, and more.

The ideal candidate will have: significant of major AI regulations (including the intersection with both consumer and enterprise privacy law, interest in immersion in a fast-paced and intellectually challenging environment, strong communication/collaboration skills, and the ability to quickly digest and communicate the nexus of legal/business/technical issues with Product Leadership.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $252000 - $351000 (USD) + 25% bonus target + equity + benefits
