A fast-growing fintech company dedicated to helping financial institutions prevent fraud is looking to bring on a Senior Product Counsel that will work closely with the company's security, product, engineering, data, and compliance teams to support fast-paced product development and commercialization, as well as the implementation of scalable privacy, risk management, and other solutions across the wider business.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Provide proactive and practical legal advice to the product team regarding new and existing products and features with a focus on data privacy, intellectual property, and regulatory matters.
2. Develop a strong understanding of the company and its partners' data flows, integrations, and models.
3. Assist with the continued improvement of the company's partner and vendor risk management program. Support regulatory and privacy reviews of vendors, partners, and partner products.
4. Monitor data protection, privacy, AI, and consumer protection laws including GDPR, GLBA, CCPA, FCRA, and the EU AI Act.
5. Provide guidance on the development and use of AI/machine learning technologies, addressing regulatory, intellectual property, consumer protection, and data privacy issues.
6. Negotiate and identify issues in complex data agreements.

Qualifications:

1. JD and state bar membership.
2. 5+ years experience as a practicing attorney, ideally with some in-house experience.
3. Extensive experience advising on privacy issues relating to the development and use of complex technologies within a Fintech or financial services company.
4. Proven working knowledge of privacy laws, including US financial privacy laws such as GLBA.
5. Understanding of broader regulatory landscape for financial services, including UDAAP, AI laws, vendor risk, model governance standards, and AML/sanctions.
