Job summary

Binance is seeking an experienced product counsel to join our product legal team. You will serve as the primary legal contact for multiple product lines, advise on regulatory, contract, and compliance issues, and partner with cross-functional teams worldwide to support rapid product development.

The role requires 8–10 years of experience in law, strong communication, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced fintech environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 8–10 years of legal experience in a law firm, financial services firm or fast-paced technology company.
• Experience advising on digital assets and/or financial products preferred.
• Ability to multi-task across stakeholders and prioritize.
• Strong communication with senior stakeholders and commercially minded legal advice.
• Hands-on and proactive attitude with the ability to work independently on complex projects.
• Experience in privacy, data protection, IP, or technology transactions/litigation would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Acting as the key point of contact within Legal for the supported business lines and coordinating with cross-functional teams.
• Facilitating product development through the full product life-cycle and identifying legal risks.
• Advising on product compliance across multiple jurisdictions and coordinating with regional teams and external counsel.
• Drafting, amending, and negotiating product-centric terms and contracts; preparing templates to mitigate risk.
• Advising on product-related marketing, announcements, and social media campaigns.
• Advising on regulatory compliance for financial instruments and digital assets regulation.
• Handling client complaints and disputes with litigation colleagues.
• Managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders across jurisdictions and time zones.
• Training and creating internal guidance for colleagues within and outside of Legal.
• Managing engagement of external counsel in line with internal policies.

We are looking for energetic, creative, entrepreneurial and experienced product counsel to join our product legal team. They will be working on a range of products across the globe. You’ll represent Legal across Binance as we build the future of crypto and blockchain.

Responsibilities

• Acting as the key point of contact within Legal for the supported business lines, taking charge of Binance’s legal needs and obligations for the various products and services offered and coordinating with other Legal teams (such as Commercial, Corporate, Regulatory, Data Privacy, Litigation, etc) and cross functional teams (such as Compliance, Risk, Marketing, Business Development, Customer Support, Tax, etc).
• Facilitating product development through the full product life-cycle (i.e. design, launch, ongoing advisory, etc), identifying and mitigating Legal risks.
• Advising on product compliance with relevant regulations across multiple jurisdictions, including managing and working hand-in-hand with Binance’s regional Legal and Compliance teams and, where necessary, external counsel, on matters such as licensing and approval applications, product restrictions, compliance requirements (i.e., AML/CFT) and other related topics.
• Drafting, amending, and/or negotiating existing or new product centric terms and commercial contracts and preparing templates with a view to mitigating risk.
• Advising on product related marketing, announcements and social media campaigns.
• Advising on regulatory compliance and implementation, including in the context of financial instruments regulation (such as MIFID, MAR and EMIR) and digital assets regulation (such as MiCA and DORA, for example).
• Advising on client complaints and disputes alongside litigation colleagues.
• Managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders and coordinating with colleagues across jurisdictions and time zones.
• Working with and advising cross functional teams (e.g. Marketing, Business Development, Customer Support) to drive user acquisition and retention.
• Keeping up-to-date with industry/market trends and research on product centric regulatory issues.
• Anticipating new ideas and identifying legal issues for Binance in the end-to-end planning and execution process for products on Binance’s ecosystem.
• Supporting licensing initiatives and other internal projects.
• Developing creative solutions to meet current and evolving business needs.
• Knowledge sharing - delivering training and creating internal guidance for colleagues within and outside of Legal.
• Managing engagement of external counsel in line with internal policies and procedures.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Strong team player with business acumen and excellent communication skills and a keen interest in the crypto world and digital assets markets.
• Minimum of 8 - 10 years of experience in a law firm, financial services firm or a fast-paced technology company.
• Ability to effectively multi-task and prioritize across stakeholders/business units.
• Confidence in engaging with senior stakeholders and delivering trusted, commercially minded legal advice.
• Open to candidates with strong experience across a range of practice areas, however relevant legal experience advising on digital assets and/or financial products at a fintech company or financial institution would be preferred;
• Experience in product counseling on privacy, data protection, intellectual property, or technology transactions/litigation would be advantageous;
• Demonstrates a “hands on” and proactive attitude and the ability to work independently in managing complex projects.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross functional business teams and maintain relationships with the necessary regulatory and compliance stakeholders.
