Job summary

Modine Manufacturing Company is seeking a Product Costing Engineer to analyze and optimize costs for HDE thermal management products. You will support global projects and collaborate with LAW, NLM, and other global operations to ensure cost targets are met throughout the product lifecycle.

The role emphasizes detailed cost modeling, supplier benchmarking, and cross-functional teamwork with Engineering, Procurement, and Manufacturing, including plant start-ups and new launches.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering or related field.
• 1+ years of Engineering experience; finance or product costing is a plus.
• Preferred: Knowledge of Modine products and manufacturing processes (fabrication, machining, brazing) and cost drivers.
• Strong analytical skills and proficiency in costing tools and ERP systems.
• Strong experience with Microsoft Office Excel and AI tools.
• Excellent communication and ability to work cross-functional in a global environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed cost models for HDE products, including materials, labor, overhead, tooling, and logistics.
• Conduct should-cost analysis and supplier benchmarking to identify cost reduction opportunities.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Procurement, and Manufacturing to integrate cost targets into design and production decisions.
• Support LAW & NLM operations during plant start-ups, product transfers, and new launches by providing cost analysis and guidance.
• Monitor actual vs. estimated costs, perform variance analysis, and implement corrective actions.
• Participate in make-vs-buy evaluations and lifecycle cost assessments for HDE components.
• Prepare and present cost reports at key project milestones to leadership and cross-functional teams.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives and cost-saving programs across HDE operations globally.
• Provide on-site support at LAW & NLM as needed (travel up to 10%).
• Participate in manufacturing process audits, and support plant finance through standard hour studies.

Position Description

The Product Costing Engineer is responsible for cost analysis and optimization of HDE thermal management products. This role ensures cost targets are achieved throughout the product lifecycle, supports global projects, and provides direct support to Lawrenceburg, TN (LAW), and Nuevo Laredo, MX (NLM) operations with some travel required.

Required Education & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering or related field
