Saur Energy International in the United States seeks a Regulatory Compliance Lead to drive TRS compliance across gas power, heavy-duty and aero-derivative units.   • Capable of identifying and resolving regulatory issues quickly; interacts with Regulators.
  • Knowledge of legislative requirements and industry standards.
  • Occasional travel required.
  • Expertise in EU ATEX/EMC/PED/LV, ASME, IBC and Grid Codes.
  • Experience managing high-impact regulatory compliance projects across functions.
  • Knowledge of Energy Industry.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

  • Drive project regulatory compliance for power plant technologies (GT, GEN, ST, BOP, HRSG, Controls).
  • Flow down regulatory requirements to engineering, sourcing and other functions.
  • Collect Codes & Standards requirements and build a compliance strategy plan.
  • Conduct regulatory assessments and manage compliance plans.
  • Partner with Manufacturing, Design & field teams to resolve issues.
  • Assist inspections & audits at manufacturing and customer sites.
  • Interact with certification bodies and authorities to obtain certifications.
  • Maintain awareness of latest regulatory developments.
  • Coordinate a team of compliance project engineers.
  • Approve TRS information packages for submission to authorities.
  • Manage schedule and cost of TRS compliance.
  • Lead problem solving related to equipment compliance.
  • Monitor and communicate project status and risks.
  • Present in technical and project reviews.
  • Communicate results to engineering and project teams.
  • Work independently to achieve TRS compliance.
  • Understand best practices and market competition.
  • Support initiatives such as QA, PLM, Lean and PCO.
  • Follow internal policies and engineering standards.
  • Promote safety culture.

Job description

Roles And Responsibilities
  • Drive project regulatory compliance for all technologies part of Power Plants (GT, GEN, ST, BOP, HRSG, Controls) and for all TRS categories (Environmental compliance, Pressure equipment compliance, Explosive atmospheres compliance, machinery safety compliance, etc.) for Gas Power Heavy-Duty and Aero-Derivative Units.
  • Flow down regulatory requirements to engineering, sourcing and other functions as required.
  • Collect contractual Codes & Standards requirements and build a compliance strategy plan.
  • Conduct regulatory compliance assessments and manages project technical compliance plans to meet the requirements by reviewing and understanding the applicable Regulations and referenced Standards
  • Partner with Manufacturing, Design & field teams to successfully resolve regulatory compliance issues.
  • Assist equipment inspections & audits in manufacturing as well as customer sites as needed for codes & standards compliance requirements.
  • Interact with outside engineering firms, certification and inspection agencies, governmental agencies, authorities to provide product compliance with applicable regional or national Technical Regulations to gain the needed product certification or registration.
  • Maintain awareness of the latest technical regulations developments.
  • Coordinate a team of compliance project engineers
  • Serve as an approver for TRS information packages or technical files for its eventual submission to authorities.
  • Manage project schedule and cost of TRS compliance for the scope of work.
  • Lead the solution of technical problems related to compliance of equipment to technical regulations
  • Monitor and effectively communicate project status, business issues and potential non-compliance risks for the project
  • Participate as a presenter in technical and project reviews
  • Communicate results/actions to the relevant engineering and project teams
  • Act independently in achieving project TRS compliance
  • Has in-depth knowledge of best practices and interfaces with others; has working knowledge of competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market
  • Be proactive towards business initiatives such as Quality, PLM multi-generation roll out, Productivity (Lean), Product Cost Out (PCO) and continuous improvement
  • Work within the guidelines of applicable internal Policies and Procedures, Engineering Standards
  • Promote & Prioritize “Safety” culture
Required Qualifications
  • Mechanical/Electrical Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent.
  • Previous experience working in international companies in energy business. (more than 6 years), preferably in engineering. Demonstrated ability to work in a team.
  • Shall be capable of (i) identifying and resolving regulatory and compliance issues quickly and effectively and (ii) dealing with Regulators and resolving concerns.
  • Good understanding of legislative requirements, current compliance practices and industry standards.
  • Occasional travel required.
  • Demonstrated expertise in generally accepted codes & standards like EU (ATEX, EMC, PED, LV), ASME, IBC, and Grid Codes. Either certified by an external entity or by experience in a technology or set of industrial products
  • Demonstrated ability in managing high impact or complex regulatory compliance projects across functions
  • Knowledge in Energy Industry
  • Effective written and oral communication skills in English
  • Demonstrated interpersonal, organizational, facilitation and leadership experience
  • High level of Integrity.
