Job summary

VitalPath in Maplewood is seeking an intermediate Product Builder II to perform complex medical assembly and processing tasks for catheter products. You’ll operate tools, inspect components, and document processes, upholding safety, quality, and integrity,while reporting nonconformities to leads.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED or equivalent.
  • 1 year of medical device assembly experience in a cleanroom.
  • Experience with assembly inspection equipment using a microscope.
  • Ability to understand basic instructions in English.
  • Willing to work in a team environment and promote teamwork.
  • Demonstrate a clear understanding of shop floor paperwork.

Responsibilities

  • Follow and adhere to SOPs, work instructions, assembly methods and safety requirements.
  • Act as quality control during inspection to ensure conformance to requirements.
  • Perform core manufacturing tasks on an assigned team or project.
  • Manufacture part families on intermediate to complex builds (multilumen, steerable catheters).
  • Identify materials, use a microscope, and operate production/inspection tools and equipment.
  • Complete line clearance and maintain a clean work area.
  • Take initiative to locate additional work and support production goals.

About The Position

Function as an intermediate member of the production team whose goal is to perform a variety of complex medical assembly & processing tasks building product to meet the schedule supporting the customer demand, operate tools & equipment, inspect in-process components and complete documentation as required. All Product Builders shall always perform their activities with Safety, Quality, Integrity and informing the Lead and Supervisor of any nonconforming product.

Work Location/Schedule
  • This position requires the employee to be onsite at our Maplewood, MN location.
  • Shift/Schedule: First shift 4x10 hour days o Monday Thursday 4:00am2:30pm
  • VitalPath does not offer relocation assistance for this position.
Responsibilities
  • Follow and adhere to Standard Operating Procedures, Work Instructions, assembly methods, product handling methods, Good Documentation Practices, current Good Manufacturing Practices, and Safety requirements.
  • Responsible for producing quality products Act as Quality control when examining output to ensure 100% adherence to requirements and inprocess unit inspection throughout the build processes. Inspection includes product, documentation, handling and control.
  • Perform single or limited number of core task of routine nature on an assigned team or project.
  • Responsible for manufacturing part families and/or operations on intermediate to complex builds that include but are not limited to multilumen, and steerable catheters.
  • Understand travelers, how to identify materials, use a microscope and use production/inspection tools and equipment needed for product builds. Apply proper identification of materials and product as needed.
  • Perform line clearance activities.
  • Arriving on time, staying on task, and contributing to better output and reaching production goals.
  • Maintain a clean general work area during the shift and proper cleaning at the end of each shift.
  • Take initiative to find work when necessary.
  • Complete forms as defined by industry standards.
  • Act as quality control when examining output to ensure products meet specifications.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED or equivalent
  • 1 year of medical device assembly experience in a cleanroom
  • Experience with assembly inspection equipment using a microscope
  • Experience using basic tools, micro tooling and equipment for assembling and inspecting product (tweezer, cutter, pliers, rulers, micrometer, etc)
  • Ability to understand basic instructions in English
  • Willing to work in a team environment and promote teamwork among others
  • Demonstrate a clear understanding of shop floor paperwork
  • Ability to setup and use simple manufacturing equipment to complete processes
  • Attention to detail and instructionsAbility to perform the job with limited supervision
  • Basic math skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Basic computer skills: Excel, Word
  • Understand basic blueprints/specifications
  • Working knowledge of ISO 13485 and cGMP
Compensation Package
  • The hourly range for this position is $20.92 $22.46 . The posted hourly range complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as market conditions, level of experience and training, education, certifications, as well as internal and external equity.
  • This position is eligible to earn an annual performance bonus based on meeting VitalPath's bonus performance plan.
