Smith+Nephew's Life Unlimited division is seeking a Product Builder to join a growing medical device startup. You will assemble and build orthopedic implants and instruments per established procedures, perform quality checks, maintain a clean work area, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot manufacturing issues.

The role requires a high school diploma (technical/Voc training preferred), strong manual dexterity, and the ability to lift up to 20 pounds.

Qualifications

  • Strong manual dexterity; able to work with small tools and components.
  • Knowledge of quality control and FDA/ISO in medical device manufacturing preferred.

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Product Builder. As a Product Builder, you will play a crucial role in the manufacturing process, ensuring the highest quality standards are met for our products. In all actions, this person shall demonstrate a primary commitment to patient safety and product quality by maintaining compliance to the Quality Policy and all other documented quality processes and procedures. **What will you be doing?** * Assemble and build orthopedic implants and instruments according to established procedures and specifications.* Perform quality checks and inspections to ensure products meet the required standards.* Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to safety protocols.* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve any manufacturing issues.* Follow all company policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.* Contribute to process improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and product quality.* Meet production targets and deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. **What will you need to be successful?** **Education:*** High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in a related field is preferred.**Experience:*** Proven experience in a manufacturing or assembly role* Prior experience in orthopedic implant manufacturing or medical device assembly is preferred.* Strong manual dexterity and ability to work with small tools and components. **Knowledge:*** Basic understanding of quality control principles and practices.* Knowledge of FDA regulations and ISO standards related to medical device manufacturing is preferred.* Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies is a plus. **Competences:*** Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions.* Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with colleagues.* Commitment to maintaining a high level of integrity and professionalism. **Other requirements:*** Ability to lift up to 20 pounds* Ability to wear clean room clothing and work in a cleanroom environment. **You Unlimited.**We believe in creating the greatest good for society. The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range for their role at Smith + Nephew. Compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
