Job summary

Simulos, an AI video role-play platform, is hiring its first product associate in Houston. You’ll work directly with the founder to ship the product, build content inside it, and run AI coding agents to turn priorities into working features.

You’ll write personas and scenarios, verify and test outputs, and help define what to build next as you gain more responsibility toward a full-time Product Manager track.

Qualifications

• Student or early career professional who is comfortable using coding agents.
• Not required to be technical, but you should understand what a good product looks like.
• Willing to work part-time in-person at our office in Houston, US.

About Simulos

Simulos is an AI video role-play platform for coaches and trainers. Their students practice the workplace conversations that are hard to get right (standing up to a bully boss, giving difficult feedback, or handling a tense negotiation) with a realistic AI counterpart, and get a feedback report on how it went.

We're a small, founder-led company growing fast, with paying customers and a product that just shipped its biggest release.

The role

You'll own execution of the product roadmap, and build out the library of simulations our customers use. Within a few weeks, you'll be running features on your own, and bringing your own PRDs.

The work has two halves that feed each other. On the engineering side, you'll turn the founder's priorities into prompts for our coding agents, run them, test them, and share them with the founder before taking them live. On the content side, you'll write the personas and scenarios people practice with. You’ll then test and refine them until they feel real. Because you're inside the product every week, you'll also be the person who notices which scenarios get used, which get abandoned, and what that says about what to build next.

Who this is for

A student or an early career professional who is comfortable using coding agents and can understand customer needs. You don't need to be technical, but you do need to know what a good product looks like.

You'll do well here if you:

• Ship over polish. A feature on staging being tested beats a perfect one still in progress. You'd rather get it in front of the founder, find the problems, and fix them.
• Write clearly . You can create clear PRDs, prompts, and UX copy.
• Are comfortable with change. Priorities shift as we learn from customers. Some weeks a feature interrupts the content plan. That's the job, and you find it interesting rather than frustrating.
• Already use AI to build, and have opinions about where it's good and where it isn't.
• Want to understand the customer. You'll run sessions as a coach and as a participant, sit in on demos, and let what you learn drive what you build.
• Execute from a list without hand-holding and tell us what you learned.
• Seek feedback and use it to get better.

What you get

• Pay. $30/hour, part-time.
• A real track. This is a part-time role with weekly reviews. Hit your milestones and your role expands. Keep producing and the plan is for this to become a full-time Product Manager role.
• The founder as your manager. You'll work directly with the founder, learn how he thinks about what to build and why, and take on more responsibilities as you prove you can handle it.
• Experience you can't get in a big company. Most junior engineering or product roles are one slice of a machine. Here you'll direct AI agents that write most of the code, own verification and QA, ship to real customers, and write the content those customers use. You'll gain real experience of how an AI-native startup actually builds software.
• Flexibility. Hours can be arranged around your schedule.

Logistics

• In person at our office in Houston, on days we agree together. You'll be working out of the city's startup hub, around other founders and early teams

The process

• A conversation with the founder (30 minutes).
• A paid assignment.
• A final conversation to walk through your assignment together: what you did, why, and what you'd do next.
