Job summary

Caterpillar is hiring for a 1st shift assembler in Sanford, NC to assemble and test parts for heavy equipment. You will follow standard work, maintain a clean work area, and rotate through tasks to stay productive while meeting safety standards.

We offer Day ONE benefits, a quarterly bonus potential, paid time off, and comprehensive training. The schedule is Monday–Thursday with overtime as needed, starting pay at $20.20 per hour.

Shift Details

1st Shift: Monday-Thursday 6:00 am - 4:00 pm OR Monday-Thursday 6:30 am - 4:30 pm, Overtime as business needs require 1st Shift Starting Pay: $20.20/hour

Job Responsibilities

• Assemble/test parts, components, or systems for BCP machines according to the specified work orders and other duties as assigned.
• Keep the work area clean and orderly condition.
• Rotate to various positions within the Job Function area to perform related activities.
• Use various tools provided in the work area to perform assembly duties and may include the use of lifting devices to move heavy components of weights of more than 35 lbs.
• Follow documented procedures standard work, routings, and blueprints to perform safe and defect‑free assembly and/or adjustment of components and prime product.
• Follow and utilizes CPS principles of 5S, Continuous Improvement Idea reporting, Waste Elimination, and Standard Work.
• Physical Requirements (with or without reasonable accommodation): Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods.
• Ability to perform repetitive operations.
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
• Ability to work in confined spaces.

Basic Qualifications

• Must have 6 months of heavy equipment machine assembly experience.
• Top Candidates will also have or be able to:
• Ability to Follow Standard Work.
• Rely on independent decision-making and problem‑solving to complete job tasks.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize work.
• Effective communication skills.
• Excellent Attendance Record.

Pay Range

Summary Pay Range: $20.20 - $25.25
